...and here I go to give it my best shot!

My watch says 11:07 - my computer says 11:06 - my big wall clock says -10:59...
Whatever the REAL time is I know it’s time for me to make a stab at that sleep which will enable me to get up by 6:30 tomorrow! (For the trip to Orlando-and my daughter's birthday celebration!)

...Tonight there's to be no hesitating! Two Tylenols...no 'ifs' 'ands' or 'b-b-buts' about it!

Lol- If that old soft bed tries to swallow me- I'll never know it!

See ya later!

Night-all! ZZZZzzzzzz

Sleepless in Ocala-AGAIN!

Another one of those nights...so today I'm dragging around!

I didn't sleep until about 3:00! I'm still fighting that soft, soft bed - and losing!

Tonight I will HAVE to make an early night of it -in order to get up early for the trip to Orlando tomorrow!

Two Tylenol P.M.s should do the trick! I HOPE!

~~~
I enjoyed some time with my music last night...hoping staying up until a late hour would produce a restful sleep!
It didn't work that way for me - this time!
...but the music was wonderful! I first played a collection of The Byrds, which I recently bought; finding that I love their mellow , early rock n roll sound!
( funny- how much music I heard through the years without bothering to KNOW what I was listening to! ...Now I have the time to get to know it all! :) )
It's a special part of my life at the present time - this amazing music journey I'm on!
I finished the night with Sarah McLachlan, again! (Surfacing) Nothing better than the songs of sweet Sarah!!
~~~~

...can't believe the day is nearly over and I've accomplished almost nothing! :( I don't care! Dinner won't be a big deal either- LOL-Sandwiches and canned soup will have to be it!

~~~~
Tomorrow will be a happy day- tired or not!
I'll see my kids! :)
(my girls- L. is Tina & R. is Tammy ~ They are very close in age...Tammy being less than 16 mo. older than Tina)
Going to House of Blues Brunch (Post#2 of today)
Sunday morning we are going to House of Blues, Gospel Brunch, in Orlando.
It’s my daughter’s birthday. Tammy (birthday girl) and her husband Terry and son Zach live in Orlando.
They have been to this House of Blues Brunch a few times before and have wished Charles and I could experience it! What better time than NOW on Tam’s birthday!
Tina and Alli (my other daughter and granddaughter) plan to join us, too!
It should be a fun day except for that early hour of getting up! It’s about a 1-1/2 hour drive from here! We’ll have to be in Orlando by 9:00 AM! Yikes! Early for me these days!
I’ll have to make an early night of it on Saturday in order to get up early enough! I can do that!
Here are some pics of Tammy - my first baby girl! :)
Subject: Getting Married Per Kids...
I got this in an email today!
It's so cute I thought I'd share!
... besides I'm lazy today and without an original idea of my own to post!! :)
Subject: getting married per kids
> HOW DO YOU DECIDE WHOM TO MARRY? (written by kids)
> You got to find somebody who likes the same stuff. Like, if you like
>sports, she should like it that you like sports, and she should keep the
>chips and dip coming.
> -- Alan, age 10
> No person really decides before they grow up who they're going to marry.
>God decides it all way before, and you get to find out later who you're
>stuck with.
> -- Kristen, age 10
> WHAT IS THE RIGHT AGE TO GET MARRIED?
> Twenty-three is the best age because you know the person FOREVER by
>then.
> -- Camille, age 10
> HOW CAN A STRANGER TELL IF TWO PEOPLE ARE MARRIED?
> You might have to guess, based on whether they seem to be yelling at the
>same kids.
> -- Derrick, age 8
> WHAT DO YOU THINK YOUR MOM AND DAD HAVE IN COMMON?
> Both don't want any more kids.
> -- Lori, age 8
> WHAT DO MOST PEOPLE DO ON A DATE?
> Dates are for having fun, and people should use them to get to know each
>other. Even boys have something to say if you listen long enough.
> -- Lynnette, age 8 (isn't she a treasure)
> On the first date, they just tell each other lies and that Usually gets
>them interested enough to go for a second date.
> -- Martin, age 10
> WHAT WOULD YOU DO ON A FIRST DATE THAT WAS TURNING SOUR?
> I'd run home and play dead. The next day I would call all the newspapers
>and make sure they wrote about me in all the dead columns.
> -- Craig, age 9
> WHEN IS IT OKAY TO KISS SOMEONE?
> When they're rich.
> -- Pam, age 7
> The law says you have to be eighteen, so I wouldn't want to mess with
>that.
> - - Curt, age 7
> The rule goes like this: If you kiss someone, then you should marry them
>and have kids with them. It's the right thing to do.
> -- Howard, age 8
> IS IT BETTER TO BE SINGLE OR MARRIED?
> It's better for girls to be single but not for boys. Boys need someone
>to clean up after them.
> -- Anita, age 9 (bless you child)
> HOW WOULD THE WORLD BE DIFFERENT IF PEOPLE DIDN'T GET MARRIED?
> There sure would be a lot of kids to explain, wouldn't there?
> -- Kelvin, age 8
> And the #1 Favorite is........
> HOW WOULD YOU MAKE A MARRIAGE WORK?
> Tell your wife that she looks pretty, even if she looks like a truck.
> -- Ricky, age 10
New Poem- on poem site!
New Poem and old pic ( end of summer )
Here:
My poem site- check sidebar!
Junie
Sorry!
I'm sorry but those WHO concert Picture links are not working!
( from my last post!)
Not my lack of skills with linking-but a problem with the websites. (I believe)
Hopefully, it will be fixed soon!
~~~~

Since I'm here - an update on my day...

Had a bad, restless, night ( Due to that Too Soft bed and a neurotic poodle , scratching at the bedroom door all night-to the point of blooded paws!...ok- she was finally let in and ended up on the bed a few times!)
So I am very tired today and with a lot I need to do!

This is Sadie...the girl who just wants to be near us all the time!

On days like today I seriously think Charles and I would be better off to scale down our life...get a smaller place! I think how nice it would be to have just a small back yard -to have a garden I could more easily manage-just a few roses I could take care of better!

This house and yard are too big and too many years of junk has accumilated- outside and inside! I just feel overwhelmed and defeated!

I need a plan to get things in order! HELP! Any suggestions?

We're expecting overnight company in a few days! I hope I can pull things together!

The cow deal is becoming WAY too much for Charles! I often wish he'd sell all of them!
And without the cows and hay to deal with daily, he could help with the home and gardening - maybe!!

(some pics of my overgrown front garden-and my attemps in getting rid of some wild stuff covering my roses, a couple days ago!)

LOL! YES!!! I'm in one of those moods!

I am gonna focus on one big task for today! If I can accomplish one thing it will be encouraging!

I think I will organize my mountain of picture albums...by decade! :) I have bought several big rubber maid containers for this!

WISH ME WELL, my blogging buddies!

(just a few of my pictures... Maybe a 10th of the total! Hey! You live 65 years you collect a lot of memories)

OH!! One positive note for today....Chas just came in and showed me that he has put a new handle in a little rake/hoe for me to use to clean out the overgrown area at our front entrance! :)

My roses will like that! :) You can see they are still trying...

THE WHO!

Hi Folks,

As I may have mentioned before, I have become a big WHO FAN over the past couple years!
The Who are in the middle of a tour, which started in Europe and has covered a lot of US cities. (north, south, east and west!)

It was not possible for me to be able to go to a WHO concert for a lot of reasons; money being the main one! :(

OK- I couldn't go to a concert-but here's the next best thing! These pictures!
I am also looking forward to some videos and CDs from this concert tour!

( The title of post takes you to one picture site )

These sites were posted on the music forum, CS, by a WHO FAN who recently saw 3 of these shows! !

There are some very good pics here from 2 of those concerts!

Enjoy!

Stuff to make you LOL! I promise!

Got this from a niece today and it had me LOL!

I had not seen this before...some of you may have-if so-SORRY!

~~~~~~
sorry, i just couldnt resist...
1. Two antennas met on a roof, fell in love and got
married. The ceremony
wasn't much, but the reception was excellent.
2. A jumper cable walks into a bar. The bartender
says, "I'll serve you,
but don't start anything.
3. Two peanuts walk into a bar, and one was a salted.
4. A dyslexic man walks into a bra.
5. A man walks into a bar with a slab of asphalt under
his arm and says: "A
beer please, and one for the road."
6. Two cannibals are eating a clown. One says to the
other: "Does this
taste funny to you?"
7. "Doc, I can't stop singing 'The Green, Green Grass
of Home.'" "That
sounds like Tom Jones Syndrome." "Is it common?" Well,
"It's Not
Unusual."
8. Two cows are standing next to each other in a
field. Daisy says to
Dolly, "I was artificially inseminated this morning."
"I don't believe
you," says Dolly. "It's true, no bull!" exclaims
Daisy.
9. An invisible man marries an invisible woman. The
kids were nothing to
look at either.
10. Deja Moo: The feeling that you've heard this bull
before.
11. I went to buy some camouflage trousers the other
day but I couldn't
find any.
12. A man woke up in a hospital after a serious
accident. He shouted,
"Doctor, doctor, I can't feel my legs!" The doctor
replied, "I know you can't - I've cut off your arms!"
13. I went to a seafood disco last week...and pulled a
mussel.
14. What do you call a fish with no eyes? A fsh.
15. Two fish swim into a concrete wall. The one turns
to the other and
says "Dam!".
16. Two Eskimos sitting in a kayak were chilly, so
they lit a fire in the
craft. Unsurprisingly it sank, proving once again that
you can't have your kayak and heat it too.
17. A group of chess enthusiasts checked into a hotel
and were standing in the lobby discussing their recent
tournament victories. After about an
hour, the manager came out of the office and asked
themto disperse. "But why?", they asked, as they moved
off. "Because", he said, "I can't stand chess-nuts
boasting in an open foyer."
18. A woman has twins and gives them up for adoption.
One of them goes to a family in Egypt and is named
"Ahmal." The other goes to a family in
Spain ; they name him "Juan." Years later, Juan sends
a picture of himself to his birth mother. Upon
receiving the picture, she tells her husband that she
wishes she also had a picture of Ahmal. Her husband
responds, "They're twins! If you've seen Juan, you've
seen Ahmal."
19. Mahatma Gandhi, as you know, walked barefoot most
of the time, which produced an impressive set of
calluses on his feet. He also ate very little, which
made him rather frail and with his odd diet, he
suffered from bad breath. This made him (Oh, man, this
is so bad, it's good).... A super calloused fragile
mystic hexed by halitosis.
20. And finally, there was the person who sent twenty
different puns to his friends, with the hope that at
least ten of the puns would make them laugh. No pun in
ten did.
Bubba Needs Help! (post#2 of today)
If my husband was a blogger he would be blogging this, himself! But since Charles isn’t into blogging he has given me the ’go ahead’ on airing his frustrations concerning Bubba, his young bull!
Charles is wondering if any of you old farmers out there know of anyone who makes ‘Stilts’ for short bulls…or perhaps…’ Springs’ for the hooves! ;) Any other ideas?
Plain and simple - Bubba is not ‘up to the task’ just yet ! But he deserves credit for trying!
Charles says, "He (Bubba) is up FOR it- just not up TO it !" :)
( Charles - keep repeating…”Where there’s a will, there’s a way!” ) ;)
Missed it!
Just missed this sunset yesterday!
Dang it!
Charles came in to tell me to grab my camera and get in the car. He had been outside and noticed the color to the west!
We have to ride a couple miles to get a good view. By the time we got to our pre-discovered spot the sun was just going out of sight!
Still- I love those colors in that sky! Don't you?
Bull Update!...and a joke (post#2 of today-nice pics on #1)
Bull Update!
As you know Charles sold BO! … He’s probably hamburgers by now! :( Crude but true!
...Unless I can convince myself that BO was bought at the auction to be head bull of a herd again! YEAH!! I like that! :)
‘Midnight’, the good looking, young, Black Angus bull that Charles had made the deal on…well it didn’t work out! The guy went back on his agreement!
(Not too cool, guy!)
SOOO- that leaves Charles with just Bubba to be THE BULL on this little farm-with a herd of about 20 cows! Needless to say-there’s bound to be a lull in our new calves…nine months from now.
(Hopefully, Bo has left us a few babies in the making to remember him by)
Bubba has been turned into the pasture with all the cows but he seems a little overwhelmed with the task at hand! He’s still young-just about 1 year old-and seems intimidated by those cows. Most are much bigger than he - and then there are those mean looking horns on Janet, Frances and Whoopi!
We hope, Bubba will grow into his responsibilities.
Right now he’s just not 'up to it!’ :)
This is Bubba and Carmel. He is very small compared to the cows!
The cow with the BIG horns is Janet!
~~~

This is a joke I got in an Email today from a niece! It fits well in this farm story...

A blonde Texan city girl, marries a Texas rancher.
One morning, on his way out to check on the cows the rancher says to Amy: "The artificial insemination man is coming over to impregnate one of our cows today. I drove a nail into the two-by-four just above the cow's stall in the barn. You show him where the cow is when he gets here, okay?"?? So the rancher leaves for the fields.
After a while, the artificial insemination man arrives and knocks on the front door. Amy takes him down the barn. They walk along a long row of cows and when she sees the nail, she tells him: "This is the one..... right here."
Terribly impressed by what he seemed to think just might be another ditzy blonde, the man asks, "Tell me little lady, how did you know this is the cow to be bred?"
"That's simple. By the nail over its stall," Amy explains very confidently.
Then the man asks, "What's the nail for?"
She turns to walk away, and with complete confidence, says: "I guess it's to hang your pants on....."

Our Ride

Charles and I went for a ride late yesterday, searching for the perfect sunset!

...Well- IMO- they are ALL perfect-so this one thrilled me as each one I've seen before it has! Not much color except for the big ball, itself. Nevertheless-it was worth our efforts!

I'm so thankful for the beauty of our countryside! Every time we go out I'm overwhelmed and am convinced,once again, that we live in the most beautiful spot on God's earth! :)

Here's some photos from our outing.

(a beautiful lake scene in a pasture)

(This horse must have heard the old adage of 'The grass is always greener on the other side!")

This flock of wild geese flew over and I was able to get these shots! :)

A big surprise!

Today I got an email from a childhood friend of my son, Chris!

John and Chris were best friends from about age 11- on through high school- and beyond.

With the passing years they had lost touch...I, personally, had not seen John in almost 20 years. (although my husband saw him
after Hurricane Andrew in 1992...we still had a house in Miami that our daughter was in and Charles had to go down to take care of some business)

It so happened I had asked Chris about this old friend just recently, and he said he didn't know what ever happened to him!

Apparently John had been thinking of our family too, and , thanks to this blog, he found us...found my email address from my blog.

I can't wait to give Chris this news and I'm sure they will want to be in touch.

John's life has taken him to Louisiana ...while Chris is here in Ocala!

Both far removed from that life they knew in SO.Dade-Cutler Ridge Fl- as kids and into young adulthood!

Photos:

This is a few years later on Christmas Eve at our house-1979

Thanks for remembering us, John. Hope you find these pics fun to see again! :)

Flea Market Find!

Charles went to the flea market this morning!

I didn't want to go. Just wanted to chill out with the AC and catch up on some 'computer business.'-haha!

He came back with a hesitant tale of having bought something...He said, "It's something I've been wanting for a long time...
Well-it's something for BOTH of us!"

;) I had some dread, wondering just what he had bought-this time!

To my great surprise and pleasure, it turned out to be
this:

~~~
It so happens I have been wanting to find just such a bell for a long time, too! I'm happy he found it.
It's BIG! It measures 18 inches across at the bottom and stands 18 inches high, including the top part that's attached to the bell.
It needs work- as someone in the past has painted it white! (dumb!!!) Charles will get all the old paint and rust off and paint it black! It needs some welding on the part that holds the bell, pictured! ( The yoke?? ) Anyway-I'm thrilled with it- and with what it will look like in the future!
~~~Lol- I bet some of you are thinking it doesn't take much...and you're right! I LOVE old things of the past!~~~

Here is an interesting website about this company:

~~~
http://home.swbell.net/csz_stl/towerbells/HillsboroFoundry.html
~~~

Note:

We found it unusual that this BELL company was founded by a man named Bell! :)

~~~
I hope to have that bell all restored and on display by the Christmas season...with the biggest red bow I can find tied below it!! :)
