These 2 critters are "Miss Kitty" and  "Cooper."

They reside at my daughter's house - mostly harmoniously.

FB-About the baby~

(from my FB page today)
Today, (because Chris had to work and was not able to do it) Charles and I drove Joy to Gainesville for her 2 week check at her doctor's office. We were happy to go with her...AND I got to hear that wonderful and strong heartbeat of that little baby ! What a miracle, having a baby is!
(my wish and prayer is that everyone could recognize the miracle of life)
Joy has 6 weeks to go until the baby is due to be born!!!

This was the 2 of us as we were leaving our house...we look happy-yes? (lol-tho I'm squinty eyed in the sunlight...my eyes are sensitive to the light)

Still, I like this pic of us on this spring day-just 6 weeks before the baby comes! :)...He'll be able to see how excited and happy we were, waiting for his arrival! :)

Midweek Blues~March 29, 2012

~~~
~~~

I like to display small potted plants in this ducky planter. She sits in my front entrance foyer.  I especially  love the contrast of this deep blue with the yellow duck, don't you?

  I bought 3 of these  annuals. They are called Lobelia.
 Soon I will plant them all  in my front garden but I want  to enjoy them a little while longer inside.

Enjoy your spring!

Love,
Junie

Update on my finger

(posted on Face Book today)

Update on finger:

Just got back from the visit with the Orthopaedic Group and as you can see from the picture the finger is not improved (after 6 weeks of wearing the splint)

The only other thing to do is surgery-however they do not recommend putting myself through the pain (putting a steel rod through the bone) and expense of it-as it would only improve the appearance-NOT the efficiency of the finger. I'm leaning toward just living with this messed up/ugly finger. At the moment it's painful-after being supported with the splint all those weeks. Hope that will improve soon!

Hey-I can live with this-just so long as I can do a little rose clipping and pick my wildflowers...and hold that new little grand baby that's due to arrive soon-I will be happy!

Love,
Junie

Mellow Yellow Monday-Mar 26, 2012

~~

~~

Yesterday we had a baby shower in honor of our 5th grandchild. This baby boy will arrive more than 21 years after our last grandchild, (Allison) so the whole family is pretty excited! :)

~lots of Mellow Yellow at that party~

Ducky cake and cupcakes

Balloons

Games

My son, Chris and Joy, his wife, learned awhile back that they are having a boy. Hope so because he is named "Drake" and has all these neat little boy things ready for his arrival into this world and our lives.

My daughter, Tina, did all the decorating and arranging for the party and she did a wonderful job of it!

The guests all seemed to have a good time and brought some special gifts for our little one!

"Drake" is due to arrive May 10th!

(more pictures of the shower, especially for the family)

 Happy, Happy!!

Love,
Junie

Friday's Fences-Mar 22, 2012

~~~
~~
This fence and wildflower scene is from a different year and season here in north Florida...this was summer - not spring!
 I've always liked this pic so decided to share it today for my "Fence Post!"
 (click on pic to enlarge)
This ride in the country that day, (on our motorcycle) the beauty and wonder of  it all, gave me the inspiration for this poem.
Enjoy!
Roadside Meadow Flowers
Nothing fills me, so,
 with joy that’s most complete,
than roadside, meadow flowers...
 whose names I do not know…
(No pampered garden blossom
 could ever be so sweet)
Their name’s of no importance…
just their golden glow!
Their beauty overwhelms.
 So abundantly they’re sown.
Each golden face turned upward
to catch the warming rays.
There is no grander sight –
 these eyes have ever known.
So to the ‘Master Gardener,’
 I give my love and praise!
Midweek Blues~ Mar 21, 2012
~~~

~~~
This little girl sits in a corner of my unkempt garden- waiting for the birds, and perhaps wishing someone would pull the weeds around her.
 The plant behind her, with the small blue flowers, is probably considered to be a weed, as well. Still, I see beauty in this plant and I've kept it through the years.
Ruby Tuesday 2_Mar 20, 2012- red wine with roast beef
~~~~

~

My daughter and granddaughter recently spent a few days at
 St. Augustine .

They brought us back this gift of wine,
 in a bottle representing the lighthouse there.

It's a beautiful collector bottle and the wine was excellent!

 It was perfect with the roast beef dinner I had prepared for that evening!

Thanks, Tina and Alli!
