We have a grey-blue bird that hangs around the creek by our house. My dad looked it up but I forgot what it is. Maybe it was a heron. I like those long necked birds. They look so neat. My kids had a book when they were little. I think it was called The Ibis and the Egret.
I believe these birds I photographed are the ' Great Egret.'

that bird sounds like it might be the Great Blue Heron.

those are pretty birds...sometimes they make it a little further north to my home state and lurk around the ponds there.
