Red-Winged Blackbird

~Just want to show you this ~

This is a Red-Winged Blackbird
in the marshes of Georgia, near Savannah.
This was on the road out to Tybee Island,
which is about 20 miles from Savannah.

I've been catching up and it looks like your trip was such fun. We have about four of those red winged blackbirds who come to our feeder. Guess they must be all over the US!

Hi, EB,

Tybee Island was very interesting but we just drove there and back- just looking! Didn't even get out at all.
It would be a great place to have an extended-relaxed-vacation...for those who could afford to do that! ;) Kinda leaves us out!

Hi Susie,

Yes, we did have a good time on the Savannah trip- tho, wish it could have been a little bit longer!

I looked up the Red-Winged blackbirds and they range almost all over the USA...but I haven't seen them around our place. They like water and marshes and we're not near water >

We see one or two from time to time hear. I'm not that far from Susie and we have lots of water because of the irrigation ditches, etc. We even have cranes.

The red wing blackbird comes around here during the summer but it's not one to stick around too long. That's why we get all excited when we do see one! lol Love that picture you took of it!!

Thanks, Pea,

I like the picture too! I like the vast expanse of marsh grass and -balanced with the bird on the other side!-lol- can't explain it but I like it!!

I don't see those birds around our place so I was pretty excited to see that one!

Hi Ann,

I hadn't seen one of those birds in years- so that was a thrill for me!
