I have read in a few blogs about some writings of Limericks going around...now- I'm not sure whose idea it was and it's too late for me to go searching! :) Anyway, this is what I came up with tonight. Hope some of you find this and read it and get some smiles out of it!

Limericks for Thanksgiving
The turkey is stuffed and is browning!
The pies, with whip cream, get their crowning!
The potatoes are whipped
with the parsley fresh snipped...
Not one of our faces are frowning!
The cranberry sauce we did open...
this long held tradition - unbroken.
Our plates we hold ready!
The aroma is heady!
Our thanks for this feast have been spoken.

Just couldn't remember as I had seen the mention of writing the limericks on a few sites...
Had to get them down while they were fresh in my head! haha

Hey June :),
ReplyDeleteSo glad you found me (the "brainchild" behind Pensieve's Poetic License...using the word "brainchild" very loosely, ha!), but more glad you offered a few of your own!
Thanks to Peter, too, for directing you my way :).
These are PERFECT! You're quite the poet. Perhaps you'll wanna try again next month when our poetic form will be cinquain (explanation will be provided to "educate" all of us about that form).
Happiest of holiday times to you and yours!
That's really cute! I like it.
ReplyDeleteI'm here to wish you and yours the best of the Holiday season. Hope your Thanksgiving is filled with love and blessings.
Hi Robin,
ReplyDeleteI love doing little poems and you will find them scattered throughout my blog(s) I have one blog (my side bar) that is devoted just to my poems...however-I more often just put them here on my # 1 blog as most ppl read just this one - I have found!
Yes, I'll check back next month and think of putting a poem up- if I have one that fits. :)
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!
Junie

ReplyDeleteThanks!
ReplyDeleteYes- a real fun idea Robin had!
Now- I need to find the time to go read them all!
A "two-verse-er"! How cool!
ReplyDelete:)
ReplyDeleteThanks for reading- Actually, it still seems a bit unfinished so I may add to it! haha
Okay, lets see if I can come up with a quick limerick.
ReplyDeleteThere once was a turkey named Lucky
Who came to our house in Kentucky.
We chopped off his head
And ate him instead
Of the piglet we raised for our supper.
