5 Years Today

Today is the 5th anniversary of Mom's leaving us. The date had not hit me until my sister reminded me tonight!

I never would have thought this day could slip by without me remembering but I know Mom would understand and forgive me with all this sorrow that's in my heart with the recent events in our community.

Mom would be so hurt to know of the loss of these young men's lives....It wouldn't matter that she had not known them- just as it doesn't matter that I didn't know them!

~~~
Mom and me in 1977...31 years ago!...This puts Mom's age here just about a year older than I am now!
Folks say I look like my mom ~ and I say, "Thanks!" :)
Love,
Junie
  2. It will always be a sad day for you but it does lessen somewhat, my Mom passed 11 years ago this coming May. So sad about the young men - they were just beginning to live. ec
  3. Hi Junie,
    I've just been catching up on you news. What a tragedy for the families of those five young men. I also understand the sadness associated with anniversaries. Time just seems to be going faster and faster these days.
  4. You do look like your mother. I'm sure with everything going on that you just had too much on your mind. My mom died in '78 and I still miss her....it never goes away completely.
  6. I guess the anniversary is sad but the memories are sweet of your Mom. People like you and I who had good relationships with our Mothers are very fortunate.
    My Mom's been gone 30 years this June. But I've got fond memories of her and folks who still tell me what a differnce knowing her made in their lives.
    What a nice picture of the two of you. Don't lose that one. I know you won't.
  7. Cliff,
    Yes, I miss my mom a lot and think of her every day-and anything that happens I seem to feel my own emotions-plus-think of how things would have been for Mom- (like this recent tragedy we had here) so it's like I have a more intense reaction to bad things!
    LOL- that sounds a bit nutty- but I'm ok -really!!
    Yep- I treasure my pics that I have of Mom.
    Take care,
    Junie
    I guess I'm a little different because I think of my mom on her birthday but I couldn't tell you the date she died without looking it up. I think it is because I wish to remember the things good and bad that happened when she was alive.
    Hi Junierose,
    Big Hugs.
    (I'm here from Cliff's blog.)
    Of course your wonderful mama would forgive you. She knows you remember her ALL the time. She wants you to be happy and live life. I can easily tell you still miss her something awful.
    Wonderful photo of you two! Yes, you favor her.
    On a different note, I looked at your profile since this if my first time here. We have lots of musicical taste in common. I love the Moody Blues, Beatles, some Dan F., and lots of classic rock!
