Last night I got into Jethro Tull videos again! Seems that I get the urge for some Tull every now and then...and the nows and thens come pretty often! :)
Actually, I heard of there having been a remake of 'Aqualung' after all these years.(though not real recently) Anyway, it got me thinking about Tull and wanting to check out some videos.
I was wondering if any of this 'newer' release could be found on Youtube! I did find some live shows of some of the tour connected with the release of this CD. This band is still good... well, Ian Anderson is, for sure!! What a unique entertainer this guy is!!!
I have posted this vid before but I'm putting it on again because this is one of my favorite Jethro Tull songs!

Skating Away on the Thin Ice of a New Day
(Jethro Tull)
Meanwhile back in the year one
When you belonged to no one
You didn´t stand a chance son
If your pants were undone
´Cause you were bred for humanity
And sold to society
One day you´ll wake in the present days
A million generations removed from expectation of
A being who you really want to be
Skating away
Skating away
Skating away
On the thin ice of a new day
So as you push off from the shore
Won´t you turn your head once more
And make your peace with ev´ry one
For those who choose to stay, will live just one more day
To do the things they should have done
And as you cross the wilderness
A spinning in your emptiness you feel you have to pray
Looking for a sign that the universal mind
Has written you into the passion play
Skating away
Skating away
Skating away
On the thin ice of a new day
And as you cross the circle line
Well the ice wall creaks behind
You´re a rabbit on the run
And silver splinters fly in the corner of your eye
Shining in the setting sunWell do you ever get the feeling
That the story´s too damn real and in the present tense
Or that ev´rybody´s on the stage
And it seems like you´re the only person sitting in the audience
Skating away
Skating away

I enjoyed my Jethro Tull night! ;)
Junie
Hi Junie, Enjoyed the video and reading the lyrics. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteYou know, I can't watch video's but appreciate the lyrics, Junie Rose. You really love your music, and I can understand that. I guess I've just always been more into country and should try to broaden the horizon. :)
ReplyDeleteI remember it! Happy night sweetie!hughugs
ReplyDeleteGosh, I hadn't listened to Jethro Tull in years so this was such a treat to listen to the video!! I so love the way you get into music, dear Junie:-) xoxo
