More on Jackson Browne~

 After I posted the vid by Jackson Browne, 'These Days,' on Facebook,  I had this conversation with my sister there!

~~~
Joy says:
I still am fond of his music too :)
June says:
Joy,
Well, I'm more than just fond of it!
LOL-
When I get into his music again after not
listening to it for awhile-
I just want to hear more and more....
Remember, you and I discovered
 Dan Fogelberg and Jackson Browne
around the same time...
 ...We would listen
to them a lot when you came
to visit those summers-from Pa)
But, I must say, it's his earlier
music I liked the best!
I didn't like him becoming so political
with his lyrics in some of his later albums...
and in fact his popularity became less,
the more political he became!
As song writers go- there's none better-IMO.
(or probably none as good!)
I was so happy he got inducted into
 the Rock Music Hall of Fame
for songwriter in recent years-
it was well deserved!
Joy says:
Sure I remember. thanks to Chris :)
 I think J B's politics and probably his
other beliefs are incompatible with mine -
but anyway, he didn't ask me to marry him -
LOL !!
His songs are wonderfully constructed and performed,
but many are 'downbeat'.
Enough depression going around in real life
(for me)
But, yeah, he's still good ; I love him!
June says:
Just realistic, IMO_
and I like that about his music!
LOL-
If I start getting too depressed
 I back off for awhile.
Honestly, I can't think of anyone
who has written more meaningful songs
than Jackson Browne.
lol- and PS-He didn't ask ME to marry him either!
(His loss-haha!!)
Joy says:
‎:D
:)  So- one more Jackson Browne song for today!
(Then I promise I'll back off for awhile- before we all get way too deep in depression!)
To me his lyrics reflect real life and -sorry- but life does have sad moments!
Lyrics:
Too Many Angels
Jackson Browne
There's an angel on a ribbon
Hanging from the armoire door
There's a Cupid with his feet crossed
On the bird cage by the door
There's a baby angel drummer
His eyes are open wide
And two more tiny cherubs
On the mantle side by side
Too many angels
Have seen me crying
Too many angels
Have heard you lying
There are photographs of children
All in their silver frames
On the window sills and tabletops
Lit by candle flames
And upon their angel faces
Life's expectations climb
Where the moment has preserved them
From the ravages of time
Too many angels
Have seen me crying
Too many angels
Have heard you lying
Bring the morning on
Voices sing of day
I want to step out in the morning sun
Through the flood of tears
I want this darkness gone
Your sweet face appears
These apparitions coming one by one
But there's no end in sight
Only the dead of night
And too many angels
Too many angels
Have seen me crying
Too many angels
Have heard you lying
Too many angels
Bring the morning on
Voices sing of day
I want to step out in the morning sun
Through the flood of tears
I want to greet the dawn
Cast away these fears
Forget about the things we could have done
Bring the morning on
Voices sing of day
I want to watch the children as they run
Through the broken years
I want this darkness gone
Your sweet face appears
These apparitions coming one by one
But there's no end in sight
Only the dead of night
And too many angels
