This autumn day and this mid October week finds Charles and me immersed in a long string of doctor appointments...which is becoming the norm for us; well, more so for C. than me!
(That's a darn good thing too, since I am the one without the additional health insurance...just medicare coverage!)
Yesterday, though, I did have a visit to give a blood sample at my doctor's office - for a followup visit next week... (a cholesterol problem) Today my appointment was with an audio specialist...(nothing new or unusual here!)
Charles also had to go to another office yesterday for another sample of blood at his heart doctor. (a problem with thinning his blood to prevent clots) Friday he has yet another appointment with a different doctor for a different- though related- problem. Early November he has more surgery for skin cancer on his face.
( Curable with the cutting out)
Charles and I both went for flu shots yesterday, also!
(so at least that's one less worry)
(so at least that's one less worry)
So many appointments on our calendar that I'm finding it hard to work in all the things I need to do- and should do....like eye exams and dental exams...
This is most definitely 'The Autumn' of our lives, I'd say!

Does all that sound gloomy?
Sorry!!
:)
Sorry!!

Here's some good cheer for fall!
October's Party
George Cooper
"October gave a party;
The leaves by hundreds came-
The Chestnuts, Oaks, and Maples,
And leaves of every name.
The Sunshine spread a carpet,
And everything was grand,
Miss Weather led the dancing,
Professor Wind the band."

I just want to tell you about something I learned this summer. A good friend told me about "The Red Wine Pill." Mine came from Bel Marra Nutritionals and the rder phone number is 1-866-531-0466 incase you are interested. I was very sceptical but because of his persistence I tried it and in 4 months my Cholesterol dropped 16 points and my triglycerides dropped a phenomenal 41 points. I was also taking fish oil capsules. I have been taking a statin drug for years and it was not doing the job at all.
ReplyDeleteI will be sharing about this on my blog soon. I think it's something everyone should know about. My doctor had never heard of it and said he didn't think it would do any good but it wouldn't hurt me. I wonder what he was thinking when he read my lab report. LOL
Junie Rose, The little book I carry everywhere in my purse and refer to every time a new doctor appointment is lovingly called my social calendar because that is about all we get out for. Yes I guess you do sound a little down and I can understand why because I'm also dancing 'in your shoes'. You just have to embrace the situation because the alternative is worse. My good luck thoughts are with you both. Momma
ReplyDeleteNot gloomy to me: just realistic. It is what it is. We have to wait a few weeks for our flu shots as they're just for true seniors right now, and we're still under 65.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Anvilcloud - and, sometimes it seems all we do is go to doctors, but I'm praying that both of you stay well. You're such a good friend, Junie, and I love you! ((hugs))
ReplyDeleteI am sorry you all have so many doctor appointments. I know that is not a fun thing. I try to stay as far away from them as I can. Loved your poem. The photos are just great. Have a good weekend. Thanks for changing the comment thingy.
ReplyDeleteOne couple that I farm for tells me that if it weren't for Dr appointments, they'd have no social life at all.
ReplyDeleteIf it were not for doctor appointments I doubt that the Old Salt and I would ever leave home.
ReplyDeleteIt has gotten to where it takes me 45 min. each week to fill up our 7 day pill containers for the next week and the basket that holes the bottles would work for a new born babies bassinet.
Oy, such is life for our age group.
