Thursday Theme Song~ ( for May 19,2011) "My Ride's Here"

~~~
~~
"My Ride's Here"
(Warren Zevon)
"...I said, "Man, I'd like to stay
But I'm bound for glory
I'm on my way
My ride's here..."
~This is from "Enjoy Every Sandwich," a tribute album  for Warren Zevon~
 (Bruce Springsteen)
Warren William Zevon
(January 24, 1947 – September 7, 2003)
~
Warren Zevon's final album. "The Wind" was worked on and completed the months before his death in 2003. Many well known artists, and friends of Warren in the music business, were with him to the end of this final project. I, so, admired Warren's courage and determination in doing this, and I admired the friends who stood beside him and helped him make this possible!
This is an excellent album and very touching to get through...knowing the circumstances.
It's an album I cherish!
Warren Zevon~
another Music Man who left us much too soon!
  1. So many of the music men leave the world too soon, don't they, Junie? The only consolation is they leave their music behind.
  3. Great song choice. So many talented musicians are gone so soon, the songs remain but I wonder sometimes how many songs we missed.
  10. Hi Dianne,
    So you're a Warren Z. fan! Good! I've looked upon YOutube a lot of the shows of him on David Letterman- I always enjoyed them ! Warren was special, for sure!
    LOL- (the bike pictures) I don't ride my own- just ride with my husband. (He was a motorcycle cop in the old days in Miami) We haven't been able to ride in awhile because Chas. injured his leg doing some work. Hope we can ride again soon! (but at ages 70-and 76 -how much longer??) :) We'll see!
  12. Hi Merle,
    Good to hear from you but so sorry to hear you've been in hospital and hope you're doing ok now- I don't get around to visit as much as I use to- sorry. These pictures are not recent of C. and me . We've not been doing too well either-Chas hurt his leg real bad just before our anniversary April 27th- It was our 50th- but we had to postpone a trip we had planned-He's still recovering-and we hope to do something in the next few weeks for our anniversary!
    Take care-
    Love, June
    your 50th anniversary June - that is a great milestone and I hope you can do something to celebrate it. Just
