My music and roses

I had a very special music night last night with my new cd of Ray Charles!

Perhaps an unlikely combination, ending the night's listens with Sarah McLachlan, but that's exactly how it went!

It worked well!! :)

The music is important to me at this point in my life!!

Yesterday I got my tomato plants planted and worked with the roses for awhile! They are 'getting on with it', even with my recent neglect! Some are doing just fine!

I have two McCartney bushes I put in last spring and they are doing great! It's a very fine rose with big pink, full and fragrant blooms!

... So- I'm faced with choices here for today- should I tackle doing some bills- getting some paper work out of the way- or should I head out to the garden with my clippers and gloves, rakes and hoes and rose food ?

Guess which I chose!! :)

  1. I don't think I've EVER had a time in my life that I didn't surround myself with music. I know how you feel Junie. I can go for hours on end just listening to different selections from my collection.

Oh, the color of those roses....absolutely beautiful. My favorite....thanks Junie.

  2. Thanks for your visit, Joy.

Music and roses-two of my favorites!! :)

The top rose is Queen Elizabeth- the 2nd one is my newest one-"McCartney!" I'm not sure about the other two-would have to check!

I did a little gardening-weeding , mostly! Now, I need to feed them all!-I need a gardener around here!! It seems to get a little harder every year to keep up with things!

Wonder why that is ! :)

  3. I have his "Music Loves Company" CD and love most of the songs on it. Those roses are gorgeous!

P.S. Thanks for your kind words yesterday. I know you understand. The low spots do have a way of creeping up sometimes. I'm feeling better today :)

  4. Carolyn,

I'm happy you are feeling better today,
and if my words helped a little, that pleases me!

Yes, my roses are a joy to me! I finally got myself going and did some work in my garden today-mostly weeding and clipping. Now I need to fertilize them all! Last year I had over 100 roses, but some have died from neglect since then! :( I try to do things TOO BIG, I guess!

Anyway, will work with what I have left and get them in good shape for now!

    Take care,

    Junie

  7. Hi June ~~ Your roses are lovely. I can
hardly imagine 100 roses. I have three.

Please wish your husband Charles a very Happy Birthday for tomorrow.
I have a nephew born on 1st April, a bit
    younger than Charles.
It is also Bornfool's birthday too.

Have a happy celebration. Cheers, Merle.

  8. Hi Merle,

Last year we expanded our rose garden so I have a lot of area to keep adding ...but am finding I can't keep up with it all as I used to be able to.

I am just now having my first cup of coffee and it's *:45! I slept late, I was quite done in from the gardening yesterday!

I'll be busy today getting ready for the party and our kids all coming tomorrow .

Mr.Eddie also mentioned his birthday is APRIL 1ST! :)
Lots of those April fools babies around!
