'Genesis' and The Giant Hogweed.

I knew nothing of this group *GENESIS!*

A friend told me about them and wanted me to listen so I did!
I DID!
I DID!!

Soon I had a collection of Early Genesis!

I found them intriguing.

This album is one of my favorites. It is from 1971.

…This is the beginning lyrics from Genesis’
“Return of the Giant Hogweed’ from the album ’Nursery Cryme’

Return of the Giant Hogweed

“Turn and run.
Nothing can stop them.
Around every river and canal their power is growing.
Stamp them out.
They infiltrate each city with their thick dark warning odour. “

Below is an interesting website of a NYC based Genesis Tribute band.

CHECK IT OUT!!

My own Cherokee Roses remind me of the description of England’s Giant Hogweed plant,
as it tends to TAKE OVER; though the roses ARE very attractive!

Some photos of my Cherokee roses-
only like the Giant Hogweed in their tendency to 'TakeOver!'

I haven't heard too much of them although my boys listened to some of their stuff.

I'll have to check them out again. I've pretty much forgotten.

I think that rose bush take over tree monster looks pretty neat.

Peter will like the poem.

Have a nice holiday weekend. :)

Hi June ~~ Thanks for your comment and I am glad you enjoy my posts.
Your rose has sure taken over, but it
looks great. I thought Phil Collins
the British singer had a group called
Genesis before he went solo. He sings the great song "In the Air Tonight"
Take care, Merle.

Jamie Dawn,

That Cherokee Rose grows wild and we dug up a piece along the roadside and planted it on our place here. It really is spectacular but just blooms once a year.

hope you and your family are having a good week- end!

Hi Ann,

Thanks for visiting.

I never knew much about Genesis until the past couple years.

I'm exploring a lot of music I never knew before, due to some friends I met through a music forum.

Genesis is one of the prog rock groups
that I find interesting- I like to follow the lyrics of their very complex music- not just listen to it.

Have a good weekend.

June
