Blue Bird of Happiness

Good Morning!

I just saw one of these in my back yard!
Sighting of the Eastern Bluebird is a rare occurrence around these parts! I have only seen them a few times since we've been here, so this was a treat for me!
( check link for info on this bird!)

I will take the sighting as part of the overall plan to cheer me up! : )

~~This is a bird print I have in a scrapbook I've compiled over the years!

  1. Lol I was just thinking "the bluebird appeared because he knew you needed cheering up" then I read the rest of your post! You realize that also! hehe Isn't it so exciting to see birds that are rare around your area...I'll never forget the time I saw a Red Cardinal in our birdbath...only once in the 29 years we've been living here! Have a wonderful Sunday my friend!! Hugs xox

  3. Tammy,

I have only seen them a few times in my entire...a few times in Alabama on visits, riding around in the country!

They remind me of my Mom and aunts....Remember the old time embroidery of the past...the pretty dresser scarves- etc? My mom and aunts used to do those and it seems BlueBirds were a big part of that!

Lol- that is probably way before your time, though!

  4. Hi Pea,

So strange about the Cardinal- and you only having seen one - one time!! Goes to show how little I know about birds, but I would have thought Cardinals would have been in your area! ( lol-I guess because you see them so often in snowy scenes on Christmas cards!) We have a lot of Cardinals here. I see them every day- and each time is as big a thrill as the time before!! They just dazzle the eyes!! :)

I have a poem and picture of a Cardinal I will post a little further into spring! I have posted it before- but - so what! It's MY BLOG! heehee

  5. How exciting!! I love to watch birds. And being down south USA --one of my favorites that I don't see any more because of our location is Blue Jays! If only to see a blue bird of any kind would be a treat for me.

And your Azaleas last Spring were stunning!!! Wow.

  6. Hello Anni,

SO- another bird watcher! :) We all seem to be connected on so many different levels, don't we!

Blue Jays are one of my favorites, too. We DO see them here but not nearly as much as we did when we moved here about 19 years ago! I don't know why that is!

Yes- the Azaleas can be spectacular in our area! Imagine that scene from my front yard duplicated everywhere you would go on a ride!! :)

    NEXT YEAR!!!

  7. That's awesome! What a beautiful bird. I wish we had them where I live. We do get the really bright yellow finches though, and I enjoy them a lot.

  8. I don't think I've ever seen a Finch- just in pictures. And the bluebirds are rare here ! I was so thrilled to see it! ;)

  9. I hope that bluebird brings you lots of happiness, Junie!

I love any birds with blue on them... it's just so beautiful and stunning! There's one type of bird we have here, which has blue UNDER its wings... not on top! No idea what it is, but I'm always surprised when it takes off flying and I catch a glimpse of that gorgeous blue under its wings!

  17. Hi Junie, I've been enjoying your posts! How exciting to see a bluebird. I've only ever seen one a few times around here. My hubby has just finished building a couple of bluebird houses so we'll see if they get put to use.
Hope you're feeling brighter today. we have sunshine on the snow, but cold temps.
I absolutely love Sarah Mclachlan's music!
    Thanks for visiting!

  18. Hi Kerri,

I am so happy to meet someone who LOVES Sarah McLachlan's music!

I have been able to see her in concert 2 times and hope I can again someday!
