Looking Good!

WOW!

We are VERY pleased with the way the remodeling project is going with our front entrance;
in fact, the job is almost completed now! This added space gives us almost 3 ft more as we enter the house which really makes a world of difference!

The guy who has done this job for us is a perfectionist...I would also call him an artist with his ideas and use of wood and his superb craftsmanship! This was a job that had no definite plan - as we didn't know exactly what it would require until our guy, Ted, got into the project and did some stripping of walls , etc... Our ideas and his, and his superior abilities in these things, has turned this project into something very special! We couldn't be happier with the results!

He still has to put one more coat of the sealer on the brick floor, but I want to post the pictures, thus far!

The first ones are how we started out... ( about 2 weeks ago) You can see how he had to build an outer wall and install the new windows and doors , giving us the extra needed space.

In the next picture you can see after he removed the original walls...and get an idea of how much more room we now have at the entrance!

Since we couldn't match up our original tile we decided to use paving bricks for that new floor. I think they go very well with the brick wall. (which , of course, was originally the outside wall!)

I love the way it all came together...the floor...the cedar wood he used to accent the whole area...and the way he did the ceiling and lighting!

I have to get some sheer curtains -
Very Sheer- because I want to get some live plants to use in front of the windows; palms, maybe!

:) I'm HAPPY!

"I'm Tiger and I approve this project!"

  3. You were very lucky to have found someone like Ted to do the work...too many times carpenters have no pride in their work. It really looks beautiful and you'll love having that added space!! xoxo

    Sheer curtains are a great idea so you can have plenty of light for your plants.
