Go Rest High On That Mountain
Vince Gill
I know your life
On earth was troubled
And only you could know the pain
You weren't afraid to face the devil
You were no stranger to the rain
Go rest high on that mountain
‘Cause, Son, your work on earth is done
Go to Heaven a shoutin'
Love for the Father and the Son
Oh, how we cried the day you left us
And gathered round your grave to grieve
Wish I could see the angels’ faces
When they hear your sweet voice sing
Go rest high on that mountain
‘Cause, Son, your work on earth is done
Go to Heaven a shouting
Love for the Father and the Son
Instrumental
Go rest high on that mountain
‘Cause, Son, your work on earth is done
Go to Heaven a shoutin'
Love for the Father and the Son
On earth was troubled
And only you could know the pain
You weren't afraid to face the devil
You were no stranger to the rain
Go rest high on that mountain
‘Cause, Son, your work on earth is done
Go to Heaven a shoutin'
Love for the Father and the Son
Oh, how we cried the day you left us
And gathered round your grave to grieve
Wish I could see the angels’ faces
When they hear your sweet voice sing
Go rest high on that mountain
‘Cause, Son, your work on earth is done
Go to Heaven a shouting
Love for the Father and the Son

Go rest high on that mountain
‘Cause, Son, your work on earth is done
Go to Heaven a shoutin'

Beautiful...I've always liked Vince Gill. Thanks Junie...
ReplyDeleteYes, Joy- he sings beautifully!
ReplyDeleteI love his voice, and for some reason his reminds of the main singer of Rascal Flatts. But, NO ONE can sing like our vince!!
ReplyDeleteOh yes! Vince is the best!
ReplyDeleteIf I remember correctly, Vince wrote this song after his older brother passed away in 1993. I'm a huge fan of Vince Gill's and have all of his cds:-) My heart goes out to your friend who just lost a loved one. xoxo
