Junie's Place: Our meadow flowers

Our meadow flowers

The wildflowers in bloom was the main attraction for me when we were searching for property to buy in the area of Ocala, Fl-in the early 70s!

This flower meadow has been a part of our lives since 1972. We bought the property but were not able to move here until1988!

This is a picture of my daughter Tina and me, knee deep in wildflowers, soon after we had bought the land where we eventually built our house.
(after my kids were grown and had kids of their own)

Tina's daughter (Allison) would pick flowers from this very meadow, some 20 years later, just as her mom did at age 10.
(1974)

I love this meadow and how it always comes, full circle, every spring... to enchant me as fully as the first time I saw it!

Before retiring I rode over a pretty wide area maintaining telephone cables and got to view the flowers in the whole area, wild and otherwise. I remember one whole field covered with tiny purple flowers - I had to stop and just 'breathe' them in. ec

What a great picture. I love the meadow. Are there flowers there now, or do they pop in a few weeks? Please educate this northerner :)

That's a good memory to hang on to June, I sometimes envy people who have lived in the one place for most of their lives.

Stringman,

Thanks for your visit to 'Junie's Place.'

The meadow is pretty much in full bloom right now and will remain bloomed out- til mid May or later.
I have done a couple blogs on it already :) with flowers from this Spring! Our spring comes early here.

Peter,

Thanks,
Yes, I do have a lot of good memories of this place- as our grankids all grew up here on our little farm! That is to say- they all spent a lot of time here with us!

Mreddie,

I hope you're still able to get out and look at the wild flowers!
