Sunset-2-7-07

This was our sunset today...
It set 2 minutes earlier than
'Ocala Star Banner' said it would-
but I guess that's getting it pretty close!

I'm still searching for the perfect sunset!
But having fun on each trip westward! :)

I suggested that we might go to Crystal River
on Valentine's Day and get some pictures
across the waters of the Gulf of Mexico!
Hope we can!

Another sunset here!

  1. Hi June, combine a few clouds near the hoizon with the setting sun and I think you have a perfect sunset everytime, some just have more colour than others.

  2. Hi Peter,

yes- well I just have to take what each one has to offer. Clouds definitely add a lot to a sunset! Each seems special at the time, tho, whatever the conditions. Nothing thrills me more than sunsets-unless it's sunrises- but I don't get up early enough to see the sun RISE very often.
I LOVE sunsets over the water-

  3. Gosh, Junie, that last one with the cows looks just like England... the part where my family lives, anyway. Makes me homesick! Those are all beautiful pictures. I'd like to use the 4th one for my desktop background. You've said before that you don't mind, so thank you! :)

Have you ever seen the moon shining on water, particularly the ocean? Now THAT is a sight to rival a beautiful sunset!

  4. Hi Skye,

No, of course I don't mind if you use my pics for a desktop!

It is really pretty country around here- where we like to ride is mostly farms...horses and cattle. I like to see the sunsets across the pastures.

Oh yes- moonlight across the water is a fantastic sight to behold! I remember some such nights from all the years I lived in Miami,Fl.

  8. The bottom picture with the cows and the red flare from the edge of the sun is my favorite.

We had a pretty sunset last night, but with the temp at ZERO, I didn't think my digital camera would work very well....especially with my hands shaking with cold.

Thank you for putting it all into perspective.

  13. Morning Glory,

Yes- every sunset is spectacular in it's own way! You never see two alike-even from the exact same spot! And sunrises...tho I miss a lot of those due to my late sleep habits! :(

We don't have a good view for either where we live -so we must take rides to get a good spot!

I have enjoyed seeing your pictures a lot , too. In fact- the sunsets are what first attracted me to your site!

Morning Glory, I think we (you and I) are blessed to be able to find such pleasure from something freely given to us all!

    Have a beautiful day!

  14. Beautiful, all so beautiful!!! I'm a sunset, AND sunrise 'freak'....I'm always snapping photos of 'em. My son, who's older than dirt, always shakes his head, and comments "It's the same sun"....well, spit!! So it is. But oh so pretty, prettier each day.

    Happy weekend.

  15. :)

You can NEVER see the same sunset- no matter how often you see them! The scene changes from second to second as you watch!!!!

My husband tried to tell me that yesterday...that they are the same and I have tons of pictures of them!

;) I never get tired of looking!!

  17. Hi Margaret,

Thanks for stopping by and glad you like the pictures.

Yes, I thought the cattle added a nice touch to that one picture.

    Take care,

    June
