Winding down!
This is the way we spent the rest of Saturday afternoon on River St.
Photos:
- Flowers in window boxes and along walkways
- Boats, ships on the Savannah River
- Charles checking out the Pirate Girls in a shop
- Junie, waiting for the Trolley
- Statue of 'Waving Girl'
And we bought this in one of the shops! 'The Bird Girl'
I wanted a larger one for our garden but they were too expensive!
This one is just about 14 inches tall. Here she is posed with our book after we got home!
Charles says, "Do we need this,
Mama?"
And I said, "Yes-as much as we needed
those old tractor wheels you bought last week!!"
Lol- How could he argue with that?

Here they are!
The trolley came before 5:00 to take us back to the station.
( I was a little sad , thinking this could, probably would, be the last visit we would make to Savannah! As we get older I am more and more aware of 'last times' for doing things!)
We got to the trolley station and went inside for a little rest and to talk about where we would have dinner!
While we were in the snack area, talking things over, we met this cute little boy and his parents! He was so friendly and outgoing, he charmed us both! He seemed very interested in my camera so Charles took some pictures of him and his parents. I told him (after asking his parent's permission) that I would put his picture on my blog! :) They said they would be looking for it! Our new little friend was named Jameson!
We decided to eat at 'Pirate House' that night! Yay! Cool choice - and it was
easy to get to -and it had it's own private parking lot! (a big + in Savannah!)
Pirate House was very neat- with several small dining areas. All the smallish rooms that I saw were well decorated in pirate/sailing ship decor and old wood!!
The food was excellent-a seafood combination platter for me-and we both just wanted that good ice water to drink, again! I managed to avoid spilling mine this time! :)
Charles and I were amused with another couple near by who had announced that they were celebrating their 39th anniversary! The waiter sang them a love song! :) I asked C. if he wanted the guy to sing for us! Of course he didn't...besides ... our anniversary was the day before! heehee
But we passed up a great opportunity to upstage that couple, eh!
* 39 VS 46 *
Mere kids is what Charles called them! ;)
~~~
We made our way back to the motel, tired but happy with our time spent in Savannah!
~~~
Here we are, bright and early the next morning, having our coffee at the motel... soon to be Homeward Bound!
Love,
Junie

Looks like you really saw the fun spots! You seem so young at heart, I wouldn't be too sure this is your last visit there!
:)
Thanks, Sue!
Great Pictures....it looks like you had fun.....
Hi Judy,
