BTW-
I found the bird, dead on a dining rm. chair! I had looked there last
night but I guess it happened a little later on! :( I hope never to
have to go through that adventure again!!!

Make sure the chimney flue is closed.

Well...in this case-I can't be sure how long it was in the house-without food or water.( our house is big and we seldom use the living and dining rooms...and the bird was first spotted flying down the stairwell.) Also, the stress of trying to find a way out probably played a part too!
Frustrating that I had it in my sight as I was putting the sheets up to secure the rooms and STILL didn't find it in time to save it!!
