Thursday Theme Song! Mar 10, 2011 "To The Morning"

***

 "Watching the sun
Watching it come
Watching it come up over the rooftops."

(Complete lyrics to this beautiful song below)

( click on Youtube for more info on this vid)

To The Morning
Dan Fogelberg
 Watching the sun
Watching it come
Watching it come up over the rooftops.

Cloudy and warm

Maybe a storm
You can never quite tell
From the morning.

Chorus

And it's going to be a day
There is really no way to say no
To the morning.

Yes it's going to be a day

There is really nothing left to
Say but
Come on morning.

Waiting for mail

Maybe a tale
From an old friend
Or even a lover.

Sometimes there's none

But we have fun
Thinking of all who might
Have written.

And maybe there are seasons

And maybe they change
And maybe to love is not so strange.

The sounds of the day

They hurry away
Now they are gone until tomorrow.

When day will break

And you will wake
And you will rake your hands
Across your eyes
And realize

That it's going to be a day

There is really no way to say no
To the morning.

Yes it's going to be a day

There is really nothing left to say but
Come on morning.

Thursday Theme Song~ Silver Morning-Kenny Rankin

 ~~~
~
Early this morning I walked outside and snapped this scene of my new day. I had missed the actual sunrise but the early morning sun cast a lovely glow across the dew covered grass.
I immediately thought of this beautiful song by Kenny Rankin.
Lyrics ~ Kenny Rankin
"I am walking through a silver morning and I feel the music inside me"
 Enjoy!
I have this album from the 70s.  Kenny Rankin was one of my favorites back in those days.
My son, Chris, had brought his music to my attention, knowing I would love it! I have several of his albums...but you know how it is with albums...we tend to neglect playing them often enough these days.
( cds are easier)
What a shame!
Now that this morning has reminded me,  I will want to  listen to some more of my albums and favorite Kenny Rankin songs.
Speaking of 'silver,' what a silvery voice this man had!!
Sadly, Kenny Rankin passed away recently.
Sky Watch Friday ~ Feb 4, 2010 ~ winter sky in Ocala
~~~

*GO HERE* to find other SWF posts around the world!

~~~
This is a recent early morning sky at our place here in north Florida.
I have to say I've had my fill of this unusually frigid winter that has turned most everything brown here in my world!
I'm longing for the flowers of spring which will blanket that meadow beyond the wheels in a few weeks ~ and some blue, blue skies!
A Victory Ride and other misc. stuff
We had a very fine day here in Ocala.
I was up very early - before 6:00 - despite the fact that I didn't get to bed until almost 2:00AM!
Yikes! I need more sleep than I'm getting these days...
You'd expect with getting to bed at that time that I might sleep a little later...but -NO! Things are working against me these days/nights-concerning my sleep!
Well- since I was up early I was able to catch another sunrise!
Even though I was tired , I was up and I was
reminded of the old saying..."If life gives you lemons - make lemonade!"
So my day would be a lemonade kinda day!
(LOL- Well-I see the logic in that in relation to my situation today -don't you?)
...AND-here comes the sun! Unfortunately, where we are, I can't see when/where the sun actually comes up, so I have to be content with the gradual lightening of the eastern sky! It's always a sight to see - each new day!
Anyway-my loss of sleep actually gave me 2 benefits which were quite meaningful to me...
#1 benefit:
The reason I was up so late was that I , once again, got into listening to a lot of the Remastered Beatles music on Youtube! These cds are superb and I get caught up with them! They are truly amazing!
(So-YES-the late hour of turning in was worth it!!)
Yep- Beatles just got better, folks!
(Here is one of my/our favorites!)
#2 benefit:
OK-Along with the sunrise,( which was enjoyable) being up early gave Charles and me the opportunity for a Victory ride. We've been looking forward to this cool, fall weather to go riding again! The weather today was just about perfect.
Here we are about to leave our place - around 8:30.
We went for breakfast, accompanied by another cup of coffee,
which was very good. After that we just started riding, with no destination in mind. We rode through some of the big ranch/farm areas.
The sign gives you an idea of how big the horse industry is in our area! These big farms are quite impressive to see!
( Charles and I often fantasize about winning the lottery and buying such a place as some of these farms!...lol-but in the meantime we try to be content with our own little spot!)
To me, there is no more desirable place to live, that I know of, than right where we are here in north Florida; and with our own modest little place! All things considered- this is where I wanna be!
That's a good thing- to be content with your own place in the big picture of your life; at least that's the way I see it!
Our country-side ride~
We came upon a neighborhood that was having a 'Neighborhood-wide Yard Sale'...which of course meant that a lot of the houses had stuff out to sell!
Oh, my! I had lots of fun looking and found a few things I wanted...well- more, actually, than we were able to carry on the motorcycle! In fact, Chas had to make a trip back to get some of the stuff that we bought! :)
Below see what I got!
The old radio shows I gave to my son but the music I kept for myself.
(The oldies and the classical) The horses I also gave to Chris, my son.
Oh- and I really love that vase with the autumn leaves on it!
How about this?
Is there a more perfect blouse for a girl named Junie Rose than this one? :) ... And the price was certainly right at just.....25 cents! LOL!!
Junie Rose
To The Morning~ Dan Fogelberg & Sunrise
~ To The Morning ~
 This morning I was up earlier than my usual time and when I went out to my front porch I realized I  was just in time for this beautiful sunrise!
I went back inside for my camera and as I started taking my pictures I noticed that my scarecrow  seemed to have shifted his stance - as if for a better view of the glorious sunrise!   :)   Who could blame him!!
 The sunrise brought this beautiful song, by the wonderful Dan Fogelberg, to my mind!
Something nice (and a poem)
Sally, at Whispering Hope, made this special button to give to her friends to celebrate her 200th. post!
Isn't it pretty! :)
I am proud to post it here and so happy to have found Sally's blog. She's one lady I visit each and every day, just to see what's going on in her world! :) It's often something FUN and goodness knows we all need a lot of that in our lives!
Thanks, Sally, for all the fun you share!
~~I spent hours trying to figure out how to put this on my side bar but to no avail! :( Will have to have some help from my Alli!
(Hey-Gimmee a break-I'm old! lol- That's my excuse and I'm sticking with it!!)~~
~~~

I got these words in an email, along with a flower to send along... Well, the flower part was nice but the words are what impressed me more. I just want to share them.

Speaking for myself - I know at times I have lost focus on
what and who are most important in my life. Being of a dramatic nature, I tend, at times, to puff things up into larger than life proportions, in my ever going quest for fulfillment and pleasure! And, once started on any endeavor, or relationship, or whatever- I have trouble letting it go...I suppose this, in part, is because I hate to admit I made a wrong turn or decision - and also - changes are hard for me!

I sometimes find myself needing to step back and take stock of who and what are of #1 importance in my life!

~~~
(The words from the email)
"There comes a point in your life when you realize:
who matters, who never did,
who won't anymore and who always will.
So, don't worry about people from your past,
there's a reason why they didn't make it to your future.
Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle."
~~~

:) Sorry to be posting in riddles today but it's just one of those times for me...pondering my life and all that stuff! Changes have been hard for me, and there have been many recently...

A poem I wrote in 2003:

Tomorrow

Tomorrow brings a brighter day.
I’ll make it so!
I’ll put the pain - the hurt - away.
No one will ever know.

I’ll hide the tears,
and in their place will be a smile.
No one will guess my heart is breaking,
all the while.

And if I do this long enough
from day to day,
in time, the pain I’m feeling now
might, truly, go away!

…So, if wayward tears should fall,
please just pretend
you never saw the teardrops.
Please, be a friend.

I’ll toast tomorrow,
with my glass held high!
With new resolve,
I’ll give it my best try!

Cedar Key Holiday

We had a good time at Cedar Key with the ones of the family who were able to be there! Our group was - Charles and me, Tina and Alli, Tammy, Terry and Zach. Also our son , Chris, came over for a couple hours yesterday.

(And we all were able to have a good meal together at one of the seaside restaurants!)

~~~
There's something about a seaside place that is just so very relaxing for me...It's kind of funny because I am not one to love boating and such things...in fact, I don't like going out on the water at all...but I like being
near the water! I LOVE sea birds- I love shells- I love the sunset across the water!
If I lived near the water, facing west, I would make it my habit of seeing every sunset! I don't think I would ever get tired of it! I caught both sunsets the nights we were there-and tho, not spectacular- they were each very special in their own way!
Here they are:
The first evening~
The second evening~
More later~
Hope everyone has enjoyed this long weekend!
Love,
Junie
