Cut My Hair

****Hair Cut Update at bottom of this post!!!****

Today I'm taking the plunge...that is if I can get my butt in gear and heading in the right direction! Having a time of it -getting started today!

Yep, gonna 'Cut My Hair!' "And not a moment too soon!" (I hear some of you saying! :) )

Truth is, I have had a love-hate relationship with my hair the past couple years! It's been at least that long since I've seen the inside of a hair salon! Somedays, I like my hair put up with a clip, with tendrils at the nape of my neck and at the sides. It seems to fit the simple girl (girl??? :) ) that is Juniper-Junie-Ginga-Gator Girl- even! But the clips have started giving me headaches-and impossible to use when riding the motorcycle! Consequently, my hair, blowing in the wind from 'neath the helmet, becomes tied in knots!

Going to a beauty parlor has ALWAYS been one of my least favorite things to do! Hey-in case it has gone un noticed, I am a simple girl (Girl?? :) ) not at all fancy in any of the ways a lot of girls (Women :) ) want to be!

However-it has reached the critical point -so I must 'GO NOW' and 'Cut My Hair!'
~~~~~~~
Late last night found me again involved in a Who listen- 'Quadrophenia,' one of my favorite Who albums! Some say it’s the Best album EVER recorded! :)
... I can only say it was a grand night of music for me! (Smile)
'Cut My Hair' (The Who)
(Opening lyrics)
Why should I care, if I have to cut my hair?
I got to move with the fashion, or be outcast...
UP-DATE:
My horror haircut-
The dread of getting this hair cut resulted in...a DREADFUL haircut, indeed!
It's just not me!
My naturally wavey hair is styled in a straight page boy! ...And the layers I asked for are nonexistent!! I have NEVER had a straight hairstyle!!
...Being' Ginga,' tho, when asked at the end if it was ok I said, 'It's fine!" (Even managed with a phony smile!)
From this - to this- with just a few careless snips of scissors !
UTT-OHH!
I don't think ' Charlie' likes it either!
...Just another tricky day at Junie's Place!
It will go wavy again after you wash it, won't it?
Sorry for the bad experience. I know how upsetting that feels.
LOL! I so identify-- how many times I've blogged about getting my hair cut or styled at a beauty shop. I can't stand it. Of course when it gets to the point I have to go, the very day of my appointment my hair always looks great! I hope you get thru it ok and I'm sure you'll look marvelous, darling! ;)
Carolyn,
Thanks for the good thoughts- but as you see from the pics(just posted) it didn't turn out so great!
:) I read your last blog about your hair- but , really, yours looked very cute!
Charles just told me he does not like it AT ALL! :(
Lol- in those very words, too!
Gosh, he'll just have to suffer along , I guess!
It's not so bad, Junie. You're right; it's not YOU at all, but I wouldn't look at you and think, "Oh, what a horrible haircut that woman has!" You actually have very pretty hair. I expect you'll feel a lot better about it after you wash it and get your waves back, even without the layers!
I know what you mean about the fake smile at the hair salon, and pretending you're happy with it when you're not... I do the same! And the only thing I can think about while I'm saying it is, "I've got to get home and DO something with this! Quick!"
I have to agree with skye...it really isn't that bad. You are just so used to having wavy hair that it seems 10 times worse in your eyes. You really do have nice hair Junie. You'll find a way to work with it that will make you feel better...and Charles too. I know what you mean about that fake smile. That's why I stopped going a long time ago and actually trimmed my own hair for a long time. It's only in the last year and a half since I had elbow surgery and can't manipulate as well, that I've gone back to beauty salons for haircuts. Have faith...your hair will grow fast; but believe me....it DOESN'T look anywhere near as bad as you think.
Thanks, you sweet girls! :) (Skye and Joy)
Actually, it's just that it's so NOT me! Tomorrow I think I will do it over, myself, (put it on curlers) and see how it turns out!
LOL- we were never assured that every day would be a good hair day! I'm fine!
