Poem: My Love
To Charles, on our 45th. anniversary!
My Love
These years we’ve been together,
down this road of life…
through calm or stormy weather…
through the pain and strife…
through the happiest of seasons that, so, out weigh the rest…
sharing what we’ve treasured…time has been our test!
Both learning, as time passes, the craft of compromise…
how, overtime, things change a bit, may take us by surprise.
Sometimes change feels threatening, seems like the winter’s wind
that howls in it’s persistence, impatient to come in.
Changes are just ripples, can’t touch us, you must know,
or break the bond, created, all those years ago.

June, what a beautiful poem for your 45th Anniversary. I love the picture of you and Charles...young parents...what a great couple you make....then....and now.
Thanks, Joy,
C. liked the poem too. :)
Happy anniversary! I don't think I remember being that young - good photo. ec
You both look so goooood in that photo.
Love looks gooood on you!
Happy Anniversary!
It is late as I leave this, so it will be received a day late.
I hope your special day was.... well, special!
Good poem too!
Lovely poem, beautiful picture... happy anniversary! 45 years of marriage is a real accomplishment. :)
A very nice poem June and weren't you two the coolest, not that you're not now. Happy anniversary June and Charles.
I guess 45 years proves that you guys have deep roots that strong winds can't budge. Congrats.
Lovely poem, JuniRose. Lady String and I always honor each other with poems on birthdays, anniversaries, and ... just for the hell of it sometimes. Blank cards are all we ever buy. You too, I'll bet!
Congrats! That is soooo great that y'all been married that long and still speak to each other, LOL! My hat's off to you and your husband and all other couples who stick it out through thick or thin as they say!
My grandparents were married 67 years when gramps died.
My parents have been hitched 50 plus years--why the heck none of their wedded bliss rubbed off on me, I don't know, lol.
No Junie all day long?!?
Hope you're okay, Junie!
SKYE,
I'm sorry!
Forgot to post that we would be away for a day and night!
....But we're back now!
:) will post about our little trip later!
Junie
Doug,
What a nice post! Thanks!
I think Charles and I were both determined to make it work out...and it was not always easy but I guess we both knew it was all worth it!...AND it was!!
...and here we are -45 years later! :)
WOW! That DOES sound like a long time when put down in black and white!
Junie
Stringman,
...so you do poems too! :)
I think it's so much nicer to say what you feel in your own words than to search out words of a stranger to use!
I often do poems -but not always...and Charlie is no poet but he's good at just writing what he feels anyway!
LOL- for instance-last year(our 44th anniversary) he wrote something like..."I think we might make this thing work out, after all!" :)
Junie
Hi Peter,
Thanks!
Well, weren't we all pretty cool in our youth!! :)
This was when C. was a policeman and had to be clean shaven!
I like his beard, these days! :)
...and I had dark hair in those early days...
I Turned blonde to blend better with the gray! :) Lol- and , perhaps, being blonde fits my personality better!
What do you think!! :)
Junie
...And thanks too, for your good wishes-

The poem is a beautiful testamonial to a wonderful marriage. The two of you look very handsome in that photo.
Maria,
Thank you for the nice words.
June
