New Beginnings~ My new grandson, Drake Charles!!
~~
Today begins a new era in our lives, with the birth of a new grandchild.
~Drake Charles~
He is the 5th of our grandchildren, but he comes more than 21 years after our next youngest. (Allison)

~ My 2 youngest 'grands' - Allison and Drake~
The baby came at about 8:40 this morning. (c-section delivery)
He is a big boy, weighing 9.2 and is 20.5 inches long! You can see he's a well filled out little guy and doesn't look like a newborn! He has a lot of dark and thick hair.
After arriving at the hospital a few minutes past 8:00, Charles, Alli and I waited in the waiting room for Chris to phone us; and we had a short wait.
We didn't know that he was only in the next room, where the babies are taken just after birth, with a wall of windows for viewing; until he pulled the blinds up.
We got to see Drake just minutes after his arrival! We watched as the nurses did the usual things of getting the baby ready for this new adventure called 'Life!'
(the drops in the eyes, the first bath, the combing of the hair, the first diaper)
~some pictures below of us waiting...and then getting to see Drake, up close, through the windows~
In awhile, we all got to go to spend a little time with Joy and Chris and the baby in her room.
What a thrill to hold that little baby close!
My prayer would be for every little baby to be wanted and loved as much as this little boy!
Love,
Ginga

Oh, he is just LOVELY, Junie!! You clearly loved him instantly! (Well, actually, I know you loved him before he even arrived, but I know seeing him for the first time was really special.)
Love Chris's shirt for the day! :D
So very very happy for all of you... thank you for sharing this day with your blogger friends! :)
What a doll baby! He is truly a beautiful thing!
Sooooo HAPPY for Joy & Chris, and all your family. He's adorable! How wonderful for you Junie and Charles to become grandparents again after all those years. ((hugs))
