Yesterday I got this for my baby grandson, Drake!

Now don't laugh at me!!  :) 

I know he's only a 2 month old baby boy...and this was in the 'back to school' supplies ...but it's a really neat  metal collectible Spiderman lunch box!

 I know Drake will follow in his dad's and his grownup cousins' footsteps in the love of  Marvel Super heroes!

This little box can hold his first super hero guys!!

around our place this week!

The Crepe Myrtles are in full bloom here now...and while out taking pictures of them I noticed (probably for the 1st.time) that these clumps of puffy and frilly blooms each have a touch of yellow at the centers! Here are the white ones and a dark pink one. We have a few other colors too!


The other potted flowers shown are a 'Dancing Lady Orchid,' and an annual called 'Kalanchoe.'

This is a picture my daughter got on her recent hiking adventure in the Smokey Mountains, NC.

I was unable to identify it with my searches.

Does anyone know the name of this pretty little blue wildflower?

This is a happy time for our family, and so I will use the little ducks from my daughter-in-Laws baby shower for my Midweek Blues entry this time.

  (even though there's not a lot of blue in the picture)

I put together this picture to represent  my son, Chris, his wife, Joy and their new baby, Drake, who will be added to our family TOMORROW!!

 

 

Needless to say, the whole family is thrilled beyond words with this new baby coming, after so many years.

(my youngest grand child (of 4) is now age  21...a long span of time between my 'grands')

The C-Section delivery is set for tomorrow at 8:00 AM.

In the springtime I like to use this little bunny, decorated with blue flowers, as a vase for bouquets of my wildflowers from the meadow!

In the whole wide world...

(the world as I know it)

  my wildflower meadow is among my favorite things!

I like to display small potted plants in this ducky planter. She sits in my front entrance foyer.  I especially  love the contrast of this deep blue with the yellow duck, don't you?

 

  I bought 3 of these  annuals. They are called Lobelia.

 Soon I will plant them all  in my front garden but I want  to enjoy them a little while longer inside.

This little girl sits in a corner of my unkempt garden- waiting for the birds, and perhaps wishing someone would pull the weeds around her.

 The plant behind her, with the small blue flowers, is probably considered to be a weed, as well. Still, I see beauty in this plant and I've kept it through the years.

This elephant bank was a gift I gave to my youngest daughter, Tina, on her 5th. birthday in 1969.

The coin is put in the elephant's trunk and by pushing a lever down, the trunk moves up and the coin goes in a slot at the top center of the bank.
