and it reminded me of this poem I wrote in 2004...





Life


You think you have it figured out,
what’s expected in your world…
then something - someone – comes along,
to set it all a whirl!!

You’ve fought the fight, you’ve compromised,
you’ve finally reached a place;
and found a certain kind of peace.
You think you’ve won the race!

But you can’t know what life may bring,
what heartaches are in store…
or the happiness you sometimes find -
like none you’ve known before!

Life is an adventure !
Ever changing - day by day!
There’s choices there for you to make,
but debts that you must pay!

It all must balance!
You must know
each pleasure has its cost!
And does it equal, in the end,
the total you have lost?
