Poem: First Signs of Spring

~
First Signs of Spring
I witnessed today
 the first signs of spring;
the billowy blossoms of the
 wild plum trees!
They seemingly mirrored,
 white clouds overhead.
…Except that these "Tree Clouds"
were covered with bees!

Bees working, in frenzy,
among the white puffs.
Seeking spring’s first nectar,
in this most welcomed fest!
I watched as this ritual,
 once more, did unfold.
They were in such a hurry,
never pausing to rest!

This first taste of spring,
as the bees drink it in,
brings enchantment to me.
Such a sight to behold!
Full circle, once more,
 the earth fresh and new.
  New life now awakens.
 Spring, softly, unfolds.

Ruby Tuesday 2~Jan 31, 2012 - My Heart

~~~
~
Fantasy
I put my feelings on the line.
I put my heart out, in plain view.
I lavished love, so willingly...
the only way I knew.
Defenses left along the way.
In shattered heaps they’re lying, still.
And what was me
- my heart , my soul -
was there for you to fill.
I put my all, there on the line.
My past I left, without a care.
Mountains crossed and bridges
burned...
all on a hope and prayer.
That hope and prayer are flimsy now.
The love I nurtured, has been stilled.
The dream was mine - a fantasy -
  not meant to be fulfilled.
Poem: "On The Brink"-some thoughts on the New Year
(posted on FaceBook)
On The Brink
~some thoughts on the New Year~
On the brink, again we stand, not knowing what’s ahead.
Moving bravely, step by step, as this new year unfolds.
Taking time to analyze past missteps we’ve taken.
Time to choose a better path-embrace the new-let go the old!
What better time to start anew?
We have a slate wiped clean, uncluttered.
The painful parts we’ll leave behind,
Only keeping those things that mattered.
Poodle in the clouds
Do you see what I see?
Yep! A fluffy, white poodle!
:)
I wish for you a day of warmth
with skies the softest blue...
with puffy clouds, the whitest white -
no darkness showing through.
Poem: "On a Hillside, by a River"
  (from my FB page)
‎~Remembering a visit with my sister~
On a Hillside, By a River
~
On a hillside by a river
we touch hands, me and my sis.
Reminiscing, sharing memories
of our mom, our dad, our kids
Remembering times that we have shared
and some we haven’t known together...
Filling in the empty spaces
with my sister- nothing better.
We give praise for all God’s beauty
as we gaze upon this scene
Hide our sorrows-count our blessings
for all the joys this day will bring.
~ ~to welcome in my meadow flowers~ ~
Poem: My Meadow Walk
~~~

My Meadow Walk

Today I took a meadow walk
and to my great delight,
I saw the Pinks are blooming!
It happened overnight!

The first blooms come in early spring,
to soon be joined by more;
a fragrant flower blanket
like none you’ve seen before!

Those meadow blooms, in shades of pink,
so delicate of hue-
years ago they won my heart-
became my favorite view!

I can see this from my window-
this glorious display!
But- best to walk among the flowers,
and pick a small bouquet!

Poem: A New Year

A New Year

The last few hours of this year are swiftly passing on.
  I wonder what the next will bring my way.

Will my choices show improvement - as I go along?
Will I make amends…all misdeeds to repay?

Will the way be clear of pitfalls - in this New Year, ahead?
Only - ‘Good Intentions' - sometimes, don’t suffice.

But with determination, and the will to do what’s right,
my simple pleasures won’t outweigh their price.

Some things become so troubling…that seem to start out fine.
A new year offers hope - a fresh beginning!

Bad choices made in this year, can now be left behind.
With burdens dropped, I could again be winning!

It’s a time for deep reflection, as these hours pass –
journeying onward, through this final night.

I’ll treasure all the good things, that this year has given,
and try to take what’s wrong and make it right.

Poem: Gift of Love (a repeat)

~~~
Gift of Love
It doesn’t take a lot to make me happy.
My desire is just to be with you.
No fancy plans - expensive, long vacations.
My only need is that you love me too!
My wish is just to satisfy your yearnings…
to be the one you’ve wanted for so long…
the one who melts you, as no one before has…
the one who fills your heart with sweetest song.
My desire is, simply, just to love you,
no hidden clauses; there’s no mystery.
The love I have is strong and freely given,
always there, a gift, to you from me.
Poem: Merry, Merry Christmas
~~~

Merry, Merry Christmas

This Christmas will be different.
I will not fret as much...
nor worry that I haven’t reached,
that special, crowning touch.

This time I will not second guess,
the choices I have found.
My gifts will be wrapped up in love,
and with devotion, bound.

  This year, I must slow down a bit...
but hope no one will feel,
because my gifts are smaller,
my love is less than real.

  I will arrange my santas -
as well as I am able.
  I hope the favorites can be found
and grouped there on the table.

The angels, sweet and gentle,
  so lovely they will be
gathered here together,
so every one can see.

  I think they’re in those boxes,
upon that shelf so high.
I hope I can display them.
I’ll give it my best try!

 The holly’s hanging, festively,
the candles, brightly burning.
  The berry wreaths are at the doors,
  to welcome those returning.

  The tree is standing there, adorned -
ornaments, shiny bright!
All our treasures, hanging there,
  reflected in the light.

The most important part is here .
(misplacing this - no danger!)
It’s place of honor - safe, secure,
our Christ Child in the manger.

Poem: Winter's Coming On~ (a repeat)

~

Winter’s Coming On

Winter’s coming on.
The year is winding down.
Autumn’s color,  gone-
her leaves piled on the ground.

The chill is in the air-
and soon there will be snow.
But we’ll keep warm and cozy,
as north winds start to blow.

We’ll sit next to the fire,
with blankets  tucked in neat.
We’ll cuddle - you and I, my love -
as  embers warm our feet.

We’ll have our tea or coffee,
our steamy cups to hold
up close before our faces;
to help combat the cold.

Fire logs will be handy,
Piled up in stacks so high.
We won’t meet winter, unprepared,
and never would we try!
