A busy day
Yesterday was a very busy day for the old Kellum folks.
First off, Charles suggested we go out for our favorite chicken-biscuits at Hardees. I'm always up for that as it's my favorite breakfast. Here we are doing our Hardee's thing again!
(We look like Santa and Mrs. Claus!)
...And while we were out that way, stopped to visit with Mom a little...
I had to get home soon and do some WRAPPING!
...feel my gifts are uninspired this year but they will have to do... :(
~~~
In the early evening we went to this! We met my daughter and granddaughter there.
Every year the church my grandson, Brian, goes to puts on this Living Nativity ; over several acres of the church property.
It's a very uplifting and impressive experience. The story of the birth of Jesus is told in different scenes along a candle-lit path. The participants are authentically dressed, as in bible times. I wanted to get a picture of the manger scene but at the time we passed this scene it was sort of in disaray! The baby chosen for this role of the holy infant was a wiggly one and not willing to stay put in the manger. :) NOT a really young infant!
Oh! But it was all very good to see!
The part I enjoyed most was the singing of the Christmas Carols, telling the story of the birth of Jesus!
Our Brian was a part of that. It did my heart good to watch and listen to him make the beautiful music with his church friends.
With Love,
Ginga
The living nativity sounds like something I would love to do!!
:-D
Hi Tammy,
Yes, the Living Nativity was very special! And listening to all the beautful Christmas songs just brought tears to my eyes.
LOL- Sorry you don't have Hardee's Chicken-Biscuits! MY FAVORITE!
Junie
We don't have Hardee's either! That living Nativity looks like a wonderful Christmas activity.
We'll be off to visit my Mom's resting place next week. It's so hard without her at the holidays.
Love the pictures of you and your hubby:-) At our Science Centre they have a living nativity that they put on the week of Christmas and I so love going to watch it!! There's also nothing like listening to Christmas carols in person:-) I'll be busy travelling this coming week so in case I don't have a chance later, I want to wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas!!! xoxox
That was a pretty jam-packed day alright Junie. What a nice way to end your day wataching Brian sing....a grandma's pride and joy.
I sure could go for some of those chicken & biscuits. It's hard to find good chicken abd biscuits up here in Boston. The biscuits and gravy is one thing I really miss about the south.
(KFC doesn't count, it's edible, but it isn't the same.)
Hi Mike,
Hardee's is the best that we've found-and even they are not consistently good!
As for KFC it doesn't seem nearly as good as it used to! ...:) Is it just that, as we get older, NOTHING is as good? I'm beginning to think that's the case!
Junie
Yes, a remarkable resemblance to the Claus couple.
The Morman Church a few blocks from our home, always has a living Nativity scene and it is truly awe-inspiring to walk over to see it.
How fun to be able to be with grandchild and daughter for that experience and to watch Brian perform with his Church group.
This really is a wonderful time of the year.
Hi Maria,
Yes, it IS wonderful-this season!
I'm enjoying every day and looking forward to the 2 days all our kids will be here!
Now that live nativity sounds like a great idea don't think we have them here? never seen one anyway.
We don't have Hardee's either... sigh.
Hi Peter,
This particular church does this production every year! It's just a very nice feeling, walking through all the candlelit paths and seeing the story in displays along the way...and the music was very good too!
~~~
Too bad you have no Hardees! :( They do Chicken-Biscuits right!!
June
HI Junie
Those Chicken Biscuits sound nice and would be lovely walking up the candle lit path and seeing that live nativity.
Take care Merry Christmas
Hi Jen,
Thanks for stopping by.
In the final week..just hoping I can pull it all together- one more time. :)
Hope your Christmas is a Merry one for you and yours.
