Mercy, what in the world does an 18 year old need with a car like that? I take it his parents were wealthy. He was looking for too many speed thrills and he did make the paper, taking some others with him. This is so sad.

Yes, very sad and the more details that surface (like the website he visited) the more awful it gets! Why did the parents not know of this kids fascination with speed-and WHY did he NEED such a car-as you asked!
Yes-they must be a very wealthy family- and if , indeed, the car was his (not the family car) it might have been a graduation gift!
