On Sunday my husband and I went out for breakfast. On the way into Ocala 

( to Hardee's)

we passed this sign.

I had seen it before but never in time to get my camera in place as we passed. This time I did and, luckily, the blue sky will make it OK for my Midweek Blues post! :)

I have always been impressed with the story of Babe Ruth, as most people would be, so I was happy I could work the sign into this post.

I checked out the *website on the bottom of the billboard.*

My post this time goes waaay back...to a time and place totally distant
-in all ways-
from my life now.

This was taken on my one and only trip to NYC, in 1982. We were there with our daughter who was getting settled into FIT college.




I guess this is Time's Square~ right? :)

Vintage Ads

I love vintage things!

I came across these two advertisement cards I got many years ago in Pennsylvania. I remember buying them one year on a visit with my sister in Altoona.

I can't put a date to either of them but know they are both very old.

( a place to buy this type of cards! Ut-Oh- here I go again...being sucked in!
