On a recent ride about town with my husband, this fence and gate, enclosing a lovely home, caught my eye! 

 I would say, "This would be a beautifl place to call home!"

Recently, on a Saturday, my husband and I were out for a ride around town.   

We passed this attractive entryway and fence and it caught my attention.

 We stopped to get a better look!

I was impressed!

The house behind the fence was quite impressive too.

 Looks like a castle in a fairy tale...

..well... a modest one, anyway!

Sorry to be so late with my MYM post!

I didn't have anything to share until  I was out to my doctor's appointment this morning and happened to see this as we were driving back through town!

This is in front of a business. Their landscaping is very eye catching, with the plantings of Marigolds, in yellows and orange, used with the "Horse Fever Art Horse."

This horse is one of many of the horses from the  2 Horse Fever Art projects. The first one was 10 years ago and the 2nd. one concluded this spring.

The horses were all  sold at auction with proceeds benefiting various things around our town.

Many of the horses were bought by local businesses and remained in our town!

It's fun to ride around and  see the horses on display!

On Saturday my husband and I were out for awhile.  We went to have breakfast and then just rode around our town for awhile.  

We eventually ended up at our town square.

 Each Saturday there is a Farmer's Market set up there. Flowers and crafts are on display, as well! The square is also the home to a few of the Art Horses that have been so popular in our town.

 (2 different Horse Fever projects!)

Below are more of the pictures I got around town, in Mellow Yellows and Ruby Reds~ and in no particular order.

Charles bought this little Yellow Orchid plant for me!

 I think the name of this one is

 "Dancing Lady!"

Tina met us at Logan's Roadhouse restaurant for dinner for her dad's birthday. The 3 of us enjoyed it. My pictures are not great but here we are anyway, doing our thing!...Some are back home with Charles and his gifts.

Fall outing with 2 of my girls...

Yesterday was a beautiful fall day for us here in north Fl and Tina, Alli and I took advantage of it by taking it all in at an Art Festival in our little town.

These are as we were about to leave from my house...

We had a fine lunch together and then we went to look at a lot of pretty art displays. I spent a lot of time,  too,  just 'taking in' the natural beauty of our area - mainly the giant Live Oaks draped with Spanish Moss.

I always enjoy seeing the student art work from our local schools, as well as the more professional displays.

Midweek Blues ~ "Quarter Horse"

This is "Quarter Horse,"

of the current Horse Fever art project,

by artist Gene Hotaling.

This is one of the horses on display at Ocala's downtown square.

As my daughter and I approached this horse we noticed there were 3 policemen nearby.

Turns out....the real quarters, a part of the design of this horse, were disappearing...

I hardly believed and could NOT understand at all how someone could do such a thing! How could anyone deface a piece of art that so much thought and work had gone into and was on display there for the pleasure of all!!

...And this for a quarter - or even a few quarters...enough for a cup of coffee.. maybe?? Certainly one could not expect to pry loose and take enough for even a pack of cigarettes or a beer; without being seen  doing this!

(For those who would assume this was done by someone in dire need)

Sorry for the mini-rant but this just made me mad and sad and disappointed in humanity!
