Mellow Yellow Monday~Sept 17, 2012 -SPIDER

~~~
~~
( from Wikipedia)
The golden silk orb-weavers (genus Nephila) are a genus of araneomorph spiders noted for the impressive webs they weave.
~
On a recent late afternoon, as the sun was getting low in the sky, I looked west across my side yard and the golden web of this spider caught my eye.  I had to go out and get a closer look at the spider and the elaborate web she had created!
This web is tattered in a few spots but still impressive to see.
I'm fascinated by these spiders and the webs they make
...although a nuisance for my husband when he mows the grass.
~~
Lots of these colorful spiders hang out at our place!
We have a harmonious relationship-these spiders and me!
:)
I'm content to leave them undisturbed-for the privilege of photographing them up close!
Mellow Yellow Monday ~ Aug 29, 2011~ in the garden
~~
~
This time of year my  flower gardens have become untidy and overgrown!
To the butterflies, though, the nectar is still as sweet!
I often come upon these guys when venturing out among the flowers, too! Colorful to see but I don't get too close!
OK-not everyone is as fascinated with these colorful spiders as I am...but... if not the spiders, then surely, the webs are impressive!
Look at the intricate design in that web!
  :)
...and those colors are perfect for  the Halloween season and Fall!
~
Just for the fun of it I made this shot
very Mellow Yellow!
Happy Mellow Yellow Monday!!
Mellow Yellow Monday ~ 9~21~'09...A stitch in time...
~~~

I saw this spider in my back yard recently! Look at her pretty bright yellow spots! The webs are always intriguing to me...but this one doesn't show up well in this picture!

...except for that zig-zag line down the middle! Looks like someone has taken a darning needle to that web! :)

Reminded me of this!

A stitch in time saves nine.

Meaning:

You use this proverb to say that it is better to spend a little time to deal with problems or act right now than wait. If you wait until late, things will get worse, and it will take much longer to deal with them.

It is often shortened to "A stitch in time." This proverb expresses a similar idea to that of An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

Camera Critters ~9~12~2009

~~~
Time for our Camera Critters again!
Spiders~ Spiders~everywhere!
These are
'Golden Silk Orb Weaver'
spiders and they are quite conspicuous around our place this year!
I don't remember ever seeing this many around in the past!
My husband says we have a good 'crop' of them this year-and I'd have to agree! :)
We saw recently on a walk near our house-a huge community of these spiders. The webs and spiders stretched over a distance of about 50 ft. along a fence row, and on upward into the tall oak trees; literally, countless numbers of these big spiders!
(Go here to read about these spiders!)
I don't mind them doing their thing - living out their life in the way they were created to do; in fact, I find them really interesting to watch. The webs are fascinating - a true marvel to see!
OK~ It's not a lot of fun to walk into a web you've missed seeing in time to dodge, :) however, I don't find the spiders a danger at all. They are not gonna jump on me and bite me! :) They can be a nuisance around our patio, but I try to let them alone as much as possible!
* Live and let live!*
Watery Wednesday ~ rainy days
~~~

It's time for our Watery Wednesday posts again!
I can almost guarantee we will actually have a 'Watery Wednesday' here at our place!

(click above link for other water posts)

We've had a lot of those days recently.

~~

These were taken one day last week...

out my front door...

... and out my back door...

and...a spider, in it's web, viewed through a watery window!

...But the roses love those days so how can I complain?

Hi Folks!

Hi Folks,

It's a bright and beautiful day here, tho on the cool side. I love this kind of weather and wish we could be out doing something fun! All I can manage to do is walk around the yard a little bit! I did that earlier and got a few pictures.

Trying to fight off this feeling of depression coming on...With the big holiday coming up I have to be able to carry on. I just get the heavy feeling of being overwhelmed by things- physical and mental!

A big part of that is Charles' numerous health issues...and my own, too. I'm always fatigued and don't feel like doing a lot around here! That's bad for someone like me who always wants things-especially holidays- to be perfect!

Charles is out - doing what he says HAS to be done...hauling hay to the cows! In truth the cows could live off grazing the pasture for a few days... I hope he will not get infections in those places on his eyelids! His eyes look real bad, sore and swollen today.

It's hard for people like Charles to face up to poor health issues and realize he needs to slow down!! He has worked hard all of his life and doesn't know how to stop!

He is also facing the next surgery on his face for the skin cancer in early December- unless his eyes are still not healed enough. He may have to set that one up a bit. ...Me??-I had to put off a couple appointments for myself until after the first of the year! There's just too much going on right now for me to deal with anything else!

Also the economy has me worried- and I wish I could be happy- or at least hopeful- with the president we just elected ! I just am not near to that place yet! All you who voted for him-I hope you're right and I am wrong!

~~~
These are a few scenes from my world today!
( Click all photos for a bigger view )
Yes! I am always looking for spiders and their webs when I'm outside. Although this one is not that impressive, I always have fun trying to capture the perfect web! When I can remember to do it I carry a spray bottle of water with me to spray the web and make it stand out better! A friend who does a lot of photography told me of that little trick! :) (Thanks, my blog buddy!) It works well, too, but a lot depends on having the right background behind the web! LOL- Today's situation wasn't ideal but I got the spider and web anyway!
Also-here are the Honey Bells to ring in the season! :) Have to get to that juicing real soon!
I still have some roses...and the Poinsettias are starting to turn red!
These red berry type things are the seed that is left after the Coral Honeysuckle is through blooming! They look very festive for this holiday season, I think!
As always , my old cats are on guard around my yard! These guys are a real pleasure for me!
Hey! Know what?
I just talked myself out of being so depressed!! :)
Yes!
Life is good, isn't it!
Hope you are all having a good day!
Love,
Junie
