Going Whole Hog!!
We were invited to a big BBQ party at a neighbor's horse farm.
Here we are -all spruced up and ready to go! Note the curled hair on Junie and the fancy Wal-Mart hat on Charlie! :)
It was a combination BBQ and birthday party for a little boy.
A lot of people were there-all ages-from babies to old folks!
I got some pictures of the Whole Hog as it cooked-about an hour before serving! As you can see from the picture of my husband he went a little hog wild in his enjoyment of the finished BBQ! Yes-I ate some-and it was good...
These folks raise Paso Fino horses. They have around 50. They are beautiful horses! They are the kind of horses that have that fancy little dancing type gait! That's our host-COCO riding for us! :)
It was a fun few hours!

I need new bifocals. I thought you said curried hair. Visions of horses with ribbons in their manes.
Oops.
Fine pig. Have a great time.
You're right June, cooking the pig head and all seems a bit odd, I like the masked photos, is it a mask that goes on the camera or when processing?
Sorry to hear there has been no news of Nightie.
Hi Ann,
Those horses were impressive enough without ribbons in their mane. :) This guy 'Shows' these fancy little horses!
Has won some top honorsin shows.
It was an experience, getting a close-up view of that pig-then eating it! :)
Junie
Hi Peter,
Yes, seeing the pig cooked like that was a little weird to me, but there's many customs that are strange to me! (I would certainly never want to cook a whole pig like that. (....but it was good!)
...About my pictures and the black rim... I have a program called iphoto . It's a lot of fun and I can do so many things with it! I also have photoshop but I like iphoto better!
June
Peter,
I meant to mention also that on some photos you can get such a dramatic effect with the black outer edge...
I like to do close-ups of roses that way!

Hi Junie,
Those horses look beautiful, lot better than the pig, especially with it's head still attached.
I liked the photos too, and wondered how you did them.
Hugs jacqui
Hi Jacqui,
Yes, those horses are very nice. Charles is thinking of getting one for us. We've never had a horse so I'm not sure we should get into it at this late date! These are very gentle and easy to manage horses, from what w've seen and been told.
Jacqui, I have so much fun with my photos :) you've probably noticed!
The pig roasted with the head and all-is not something I would ever want to do- however, is the usual way with some folks!
Junie
Hi June ~~ Great photos and looks like a good feed. I like the way you have the oval frames around you and Charles.
Very effective !! Take care, Merle.
Merle,
Yes, the BBQ pig was good- :) I just didn't like looking at that whole pig ! I'm quite finicky to have been a country girl all my life!...Also, the flies were very bad-since the eating place was right next to the stables and with horses in pastures on 3 sides! The property is only about 3 acres total!
These neighbors are cuban-Americans, and hardly any of the guests spoke English. Charles knows them all through his hay dealing.
It was an interesting afternoon!
I get that black border on the picyures with a picture program called 'i photo' It's fantastic, the many things you can do with it! I can take a photo that's so dark you'd think it would be a 'Throw-away' and lighten it and make it presentable! You can get really dramatic effects with that black border!
I have so much fun with my digital camera and my photo programs!!
June
