My Travels With Charlie- Part 2
Our plan was to go through Cairo, Ga on the way up and stop to see some old friends of ours. Charles and Don were partners, all those years ago, in Miami.
I napped for an hour while Charles listened to Ann Coulters latest book. (no offense, 'Ann,' I was just very sleepy from the late night of preparations for the trip)
We arrived at our friend's home about 1:30 and Joelene had a delicious lunch prepared for us!
Did you ever wonder what old policemen talk about when they get together? Oh! The stories they do tell...most having been heard more than a few times by wives!
And they do this...
Don played his guitar for us too!
We visited for close to 5 hours. They asked us to stay but we had to get further on up the road.
It's always good seeing old friends and we all go back a long way!
This last photo is Joelene and me!
...Don is talking of getting a motorcycle. I hope they do. Charles and I could trailer our Victory up there and the 4 of us could tour the countryside together! :) We'll see!
SO- we said goodbye and C. and I were on our way in search of a motel for the night! We planned to drive another hour or so
before stopping!
We saw this sign of a little Ga town just 6 miles up the road and Charlie, jokingly, suggested we stop there for the night......

Looks like you all had a great time. I see Gabbo and Don are wearing the same color shirts? Hey, You and Joelene should have had your picture taken with the guns. Then you could have sent them to G Gordon Litty for his Stacked and Packed Calender. Ha Ha.
Sorry, I just had too.:)
Marc,
LOL! Stacked and packed, eh!!
ahh- but you did add that HAHA!! :)
Yah! Those yellow shirts were the color of choice on this trip! :)
There's pictures of Gabbo and me , later in the trip, with matching yellow shirts! Wasn't planned - It just happened that way! One of life's little funnies! 'Gabbo' said ppl were probably saying,'Look at those 2 old fools, dressing alike!"
LOL! but it wasn't planned- and I wasn't about to change my pretty new yellow shirt!
Take care,
Ginga
LOL!
Marc, sorry for what?
Insulting your mother-in-law?
You don't need to worry about that!
But as for holding those guns...well, you know I wouldn't touch them!!
SO- stacked maybe- but not packed!! hahaha
Ginga
It is always a good time when old friends are able to get together. That sounds like an interesting name for a town. ec
EC,
Yes, it was a good visit with our friends in Cairo.
:) I find unusual names of towns fun!
And often wonder about them...how the names came to be. For instance-TwoEgg- That's a little town in either North Fl or South Alabama. Not sure which!
;) ...need to do some research on this subject!
