...Continuing our trip...

The family reunion has evolved over the years into , actually, two get-togethers, rather than the one big one on a Saturday!

Usually, if you make the one (on Friday night) you will probably make the 2nd one (on Saturday-noon) also!

Everyone pitches in, in the preparing of the food (of the ones who live there) And the out -of- towners ( Charles and me...and some folks from Pensacola, Fl and Atlanta , Ga) will usually pick up some Witt's BBQ or KFC or some pies or cakes- to add to the food tables! There is never a shortage of food at these gatherings, to be sure! The locals usually have farm fresh veggies to serve...and country vittles like chicken and dumplins'and fried, cut off, corn! Yummy!

This time, I found myself thinking of all the ones who are no longer with us of that side of our family. Charles has lost 2 of his 6 sisters and 2 of his 3 brothers...plus a niece and a nephew- and 2 SIL and 2 BIL since we have been having these gatherings.
These reunions didn't start until after Charles's parents were both gone.
...I wonder if the younger generations will continue after the six remaining 'Kellum kids' are gone!!

Here are the brothers and sisters who are left of the family!

To the family who see this...sorry - I didn't get everyone! ;(
But I have more pictures from the next day!

Love,

Junie

Rejoice in that you can have family reunions at all. We already started out with a very small family, scattered across the U.S, and my 33 years living in Australia hasn't helped. My sons are the only grandchildren on both sides, and know no cousins, etc. Sad, huh? So your photos and descriptions of family get togethers give me vicarious pleasure, to see that family history is still being honored.

Val,

Thanks for coming by and for your comments.

We have always been thankful for our families. My husband comes from a family of 10 kids and I from a family of 5.

:0 anyway- glad you are enjoying my account of our trip and visit with family.

Any time I'm at a family reunion I think of the same thing...how many family members are no longer with us and if the next generation will keep up with these reunions! Loved seeing all the pictures...look at all those smiling faces:-) xox
