Our Tax Day Tea Party experience!

Downtown Ocala, Fl , 'Tax Day Tea Party!'

Terry, our son-in- law, who lives in Orlando, came up to attend the Tea Party with us today. He supplied the signs for Charles and me and the banner for himself!

Last night with the help of our girls here, Charles and I assembled our hats with Flags and tea bags! Yes! We feel that strongly about the way our tax dollars are being spent!

None of our other family members (kids or grands) were free to attend this, but we were glad Terry came! We also met my sister and BIL there.

We arrived about 11:00 for the event to begin at 12:00 so had time to sign things and photograph folks-and get our pictures taken in return! :)

Here we are just before leaving our house for this event:

( LOL- Junie Rose and Charlie can be found on several sites! Our Tea Bag hats were very fashionable!)

This tells more about our Tea Party-and has some pics!
Downtown Ocala ~ Tax Day Tea Party

Here are some pics we took there:

You can see from the posters displayed how displeased people are with the way things are going...especially with the high spending of our tax dollars!

These Tea Parties seem to be sweeping the country in a huge wave of protest! Whether or not they will change anything at all- remains to be seen! However-it gives a feeling of satisfaction to- at least- make our voices heard!

I think our Tea Party was a big success for a smaller town... and from what I see on the news, all across the country these events were successful!

Hi neighbor - I went to the Ocala one also. My husband went to the noon one but we all went as a family to the 4:00 one. Here's some pictures:

Sally and Donna,

Thanks!

About 2/3 through this I almost fainted ...I guess from the heat-and not eating lunch. Honestly thought I was gonna fall flat on my face but I got to a shady spot and my sis brought me some water so I recovered pretty quickly.

I felt it was something we needed to do - be there for this!!

LOL-Donna-I bet those tea bags on your rear view mirror make a good air freshener... as well as making a statement!! :)

Thanks, girls!

Very nice to hear form someone in my own town! :) You are the first!

We were impressed with the turnout at the noon Tea Party! Thought of going again but just didn't feel up to it!

BTW-the link I posted has some pics too. My husband and I are in a couple.

Thanks for visiting .

Good for you and Charles for attending this event! As you say, such protests might not make a difference but at least people are showing they are NOT happy with the way things are going. Loved seeing all the pictures and the signs are fabulous....love your hat as well:-) xoxo

You should have made the front page of the newspaper! You looked adorable all fixed up with your fancy tea bag hat.
There were around 1,000 people at our tea party in Little Rock. It was a terrific event, and I saw myself on the news twice, in the background, not up close or anything. I was on the steps of the capitol with my sign, and the whole thing was very tasteful and excellently done. They had pork sandwiches for sale too, also, as well which I thought was funny!
My favorite sign was one held by an old feller which said: I did not fight WWII for socialism!
