Shadow Shot Sunday ~ 1-16-'11 (from the Way Back times)
~~~
~~
This is a shadowy picture from our Way Back days in south Florida.
I'm not sure of the exact time/date but it was mid 1950s
This is my little sister, Joy, my dad and me - holding our little nephew, Phil!
*Oh-how we loved that little boy!*
Love it! I remember those dresses so well, bet you had on a crinoline!!
Thanks for sharing, Junie! :)
And, flats. Gosh, Junie, you & I could have been twins except I may be a tad older (not that we're old; I mean not that you are old)!! lol
Actually Sally, I'm a year older than you. I was born in 1941. I think I was 13 in this pic.
Little Phil was a baby-doll to Joy and me-as his mom (sister Dolores) lived at home with us for more than a year of Phil's life. Her husband was stationed in Germany in the army! We became quite attached to that baby!! :) (and all of our first nieces and nephews.) We had a lot-because we had 2 older sisters and one brother who married young and had 8 babies while Joy and I were still kids!! _ Good Ole Days!!! :)
Later there would be 8 more babies added-including 3 each for Joy and me! (hope I didn't forget any!!)
LOL- My mom was very blessed with all those grandkids!
What a great old photo!! I love looking at photos like these and noticing all the things that have changed over time such as clothes, cars, etc... You look so darling in the photo.
Thanks for looking, JD-
I don't have a lot of pictures of my dad so I'm glad I have this one.
Donna and Sally,
Thanks, ladies-
I love going back in time-at this point in my life>
Old photos usually bring back fond old memories. I think that's what this photo does for you!
Yes- good memories!
Enjoyed seeing your 1950s picture, June. How nice to come from a large family. I was an only child, raised by my grandparents. I came to the US in 1951, and have very fond memories of the 50s. They really were the good old days, weren't they?
Hugs,
Renie
Dear Renie,
Thanks for coming by and I'm happy this post brought back fond memories for you. Yes-I DO think of the 50s as the Good Old Days...but , perhaps everyone thinks of the time period of their youth as their 'Good Old Days!'
Hugs)
Junie
