Yesterday ~ July 6, 2008

Early yesterday I looked out my kitchen window and saw this! Actually, there were several others, too, that had come to eat!

I knew my pictures wouldn't be great through the window and screen, but I had to try!

:) Pretty- if not perfect!

Later in the morning Charles and I went out for a Hardee's chicken biscuit!

Oh!!!
That's the best place I know for a chicken biscuit! We don't go there very often because it's quite a distance from us...20 miles, I'd say! But it happened we had errands out that way so we didn't want to pass up the chance of getting our favorite thing for breakfast! :)

One of the things I had on my list was to look for bar/counter stools for my new kitchen counter extension! Didn't find anything I wanted, though! :(
I just need plain stools that I can slide under the counter when not in use... the space isn't big enough for anything elaborate and I really don't even want stools with backs ! LOL-PLUS- I don't want to spend a lot of $$$. I just want something casual and useful- to be used, mainly, for sitting to make phone calls!

After checking at some of the furniture stores ,with no luck, (everything was way too big and fancy for my tastes) I even tried this place! In the past I have found some really neat stuff here and in other thrift stores! But didn't find anything this time! :(

( This- I thought- was a pretty example of BLUE-and I thought of the recent BLUE PROJECT...LOL- a little late...but still- I like the picture!)

~ LOL- You'll all think I'm a cheap-o , but I'm thinking of getting a couple of plain pine stools that they have at Wal-Mart!
:) I think they would be just fine! We'll see!

~~~
Yesterday I was walking around the back yard and saw this little visitor!
I call her 'Goldie!' I have seen her before , several times. I'm not sure if she's homeless... but she always seems hungry. Over time, she has become a little less shy with me...She will come close enough to eat the Meow Mix I offer her...and yesterday she gave me a real quick nudge with her head, as cats do...just a quick contact of affection! :) It was kinda funny- it was so quick. And it seemed to surprise her as much as it did me! LOL- because she jumped back very quickly, after making the gesture!
She's pretty!
( I say 'she' but I don't know for sure! )
....Like I need another cat.... haha
Last of the BLUE!
The Project Blue is officially over but I can't let it go without one last look at BLUE!
I saw this little house on our recent trip to Cedar Key and wanted to share it here.
Isn't it just such a charming little place?
I think it's perfect!
Project Blue #10
Our very hot summer weather zaps my energy! It's been in the high 90s for several days and we need rain very badly!
Sometimes, on these kinds of days, I'm very grateful to have something quick and easy to fix for dinner!
One night this week we had 'breakfast for dinner' with grits, eggs and bacon! This is especially quick and easy for me because Charles likes to do the 'breakfast' cooking, himself...LOL - with the
misguided notion that he can do it better! :) I let him bask in this... He does do a good pot of grits, though! And grits - cooked just right and with the right amount of butter and salt- are one of my favorite things to eat!
So I say, "Jim Dandy to the rescue" and count this as a small blessing! ;)
~~~

Yesterday was a shopping day and it was made extra hard because of the extreme heat. Needless to say, after I finally got my almost $300.00 worth of stuff home and then unloaded and put away, I was pretty beat!

Again, I didn't feel like doing much for dinner. I
did manage to get some chicken strips cooked and rounded that out with fresh strawberries and cool whip! Well, it was very yummy, if simple!

~~~
Here are a few more shots of blue from my world the past few days!
Anna is winding down the Project Blue after tomorrow!
It's been fun looking for the blue in my world!
Keep Cool!
Project Blue # 8 (Paul's Graduation)
(For the family)
Today we attended the high school graduation of my great-nephew, Paul Jr.
We are all very proud of Paul, for his hard work and determination in doing so well in school. Paul graduated with honors!
Way to go, Paulie!
The program was held at the sports stadium of Paul's school in Belleview,
at the early hour of 8:00 AM.
It was hot, even at this early hour, and we were all ready for refreshments after the program. We all met at Paul's home where he lives with his aunt and grandmother.
Here is Paul with his sister, Becky, and one with his 2 great-aunts.
(June & Joy )
Congrats, Paul!
(Your dad would be very proud!)
Love,
Junie
THIS is a treasure to me! :) I have a collection of such things of nature that I have collected over the years!
Horses... ( Project Blue #4 )
This is my #4 Project Blue post.
Check Anna's blog for more about blue!
This is a couple of the 50 plus Art Horses that were a part of a big art project here in our town a few years ago! It was called 'Horse Fever.'
The fiberglass horses were done by local artists and after being on display around town at separate business locations for a few months, were finally auctioned off. Most sold for very high $$$ s!
The months before the auction, Charles and I did a lot of searching around our town and photographing as many of the horses as we could! Later I bought a poster with the whole collection of the horses!
It's not surprising that many of the horses were bought by local businesses and ranch and home owners, and so remained in our area!
It's still a thrill to me to, unexpectedly, come upon one of these horses on display!
~~~

Speaking of horses...but not blue ones...
Charles and I bought a horse we found advertised in a sale publication yesterday. We drove up to a town called Mayo today to bring her home! It was about a 2 hour drive, but was very enjoyable.

The horse is a Paso Fino - a very attractive horse breed!
Problem is- she is a bit skittish and it wasn't easy getting her into the trailer to get her home with us! But she calmed down as we got underway and we made it just fine.

We are not horse people...but I guess we'll learn as we go, at least, Charles will! :)
He also has a lot to do to fix her a good shelter and pasture here!
(As if he needed more to do around here!)

This is a picture of our new horse...Her name translates to Brilliant Sun...so I think we'll just call her 'Sunshine!'

Paso Fino horses here!

Ode To Big Blue ...( And Project Blue #3 )

This is my Project Blue Post #3!

This is an Artsy tiled wall we saw in Cedar Key!

...And this ties in well with my blue post!

This is not my photo but one an online friend gave me permission to use.

'Char' is Gordon Lightfoot's # 1 fan! :) She goes to a lot of his concerts and just recently saw him in 4 shows in Toronto, Canada!

I am a Lightfoot fan, too, but have only seen him 2 times!

He's
the best for these type ballads!

The man still has his talent intact!

Enjoy!

Moody Blues

~Some lyrics from this Moody Blues song~

Its a blue world
It takes somebody to help somebody
Oh its a blue world
Its a new world
It needs somebody to love somebody
Oh its a blue world
Its a blue world
It takes somebody to help somebody
Oh its a blue world
Its a new world
It needs somebody to love somebody
Oh its a blue world
