The Who~ "Tea and Theatre"

I love my 'WHO'...

When we saw The Who in concert on their 'Endless Wire' tour of 2006-2007,

(my one and only time for seeing The Who in concert)

I found this song incredibly sad but beautiful. It sounded like a goodbye ... an ending... I suppose it may be that but am hoping it will not be a quick ending!

You see, I discovered 'The Who' late in my life...have been, frantically, playing catch-up the past few years. I never grow tired of my WHO music-and with each listen it seems fresh and new to me...from the Woodstock videos...to this 'Endless Wire' tour and everything in between!

In a way I feel lucky that I have just recently 'found' this music
  (much thanks to my friend)
because I still have lots to explore at a time in my life when I need something...but in another way I feel cheated that I didn't know the music all through the years!  :)

Hope Pete and Roger never quit!!

I was a teen when Elvis came on the scene- so-YES-he was a big deal to me and most young people of those times.  I remember well, going to see this movie with this song 'Jailhouse Rock.' 

I followed his career over the years and was very saddened when he died so young.

Recently  I watched  a video with a friend, of The Who performing a song written with Elvis in mind ~ 'Real Good Looking Boy!'

Many songs have been written about Elvis or inspired by Elvis. I love this one by The Who and listen to it often.

Elvis certainly was a 'Real good looking boy' in his early years!

Hair Cut

Yep- finally got my hair cut!! :)

 Now-don't laugh!!  :)   It's really not that bad... This pic was made with the  Photo Booth camera on my computer and it sort of distorts any face- EVEN a cute one (like my granddaughter, I mean) The top of the image seems a little pointed--or something...anyway... just not quite right!

Oh- but I'm ok with the cut- it FEELS good even if it doesn't look so great! And my hair always looks better after I've done it myself-after a new cut, I mean.

Whatever - it is what it is!!

We will be going on our annual reunion trip to Alabama next week-will be gone, I think  from the 5th. -thru the 9th-or 10th.

(The hair cut was on my to-do list-so I'm glad I can now check that off!)

Speaking of 'Who,' (I was)... had a great WHO listening night last night. Watched several parts of the 'Tommy' movie vids! Had a fun time!

A very nice day!

Today was a really pretty one here in my little corner... it was bright and sunny with the sky the bluest of blue with those white, puffy clouds I love to see.

Looked beautiful as I looked out the window - unfortunately, though, I was not able to spend much time outside as I had bills to pay; lots of paperwork to do! I find this job harder and less appealing these days than it ever was in the past! Oh well- you do what you gotta do!!

I did get out for a little while, in spite of my chores ...just couldn't resist!

You can see signs of early spring around here. This is the wild plum tree. I love these delicate , white blooms! This tree, and the Red-Bud trees, are the first blooms of spring-and they are very short lived!







The Robins too, do not linger long here. I didn't see any today while I was out...so maybe they have gone already! I hope not. I hope I can see them a little longer!

LOL- You can tell they do not like to get their picture taken!

Finally, I'm thinking, the worst of our cold weather is over...

Last night I did a lot of Who vid watching of some youtubes recommended by a good friend of mine!

Yes!!

I think The Who is the greatest Rock band ever!

~I just take the best of that era (the music) and ignore the bad things that evolved out of that time! (drugs-etc)~

Shrek, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were all having lunch together.

Shrek said, 'I have always thought that I'm the strongest man in the world, but how can I be sure?'

Angelina Jolie agreed. 'I'm told I'm the most gorgeous of them all, but sometimes I wonder.'

Brad Pitt said, 'I'm pretty sure I'm the sexiest man alive but I've never had it confirmed.'

They all decided that the best way to find out if their beliefs were true was to ask the famed talking 'mirror, mirror on the wall' to confirm for them whether Shrek was the strongest, Angelina Jolie was the most gorgeous and Brad Pitt was the sexiest.

They agreed to meet again the next day for lunch to discuss their findings.

This joke about Mirrors and pondering about our good looks - etc... brought to mind the music I was listening to last night!

Once again I picked 'The Who' to help me unwind! I was watching some Youtubes of concerts- old and new!

This joke reminded me of a song, written by Pete Townshend! It's titled 'Real Good Looking Boy' and , supposedly, is about Elvis Presley. Pete (or the guy in the song) is wondering if, maybe, he is as good looking as Elvis! :) Not likely, Pete - but you sure can play that guitar and write great songs!!

As you know 'The Who' is my #1 classic rock band! Very often I get the urge to have me a 'WHO' night of music! Last night was a good one! :)

The music in this video is great- and I enjoyed all the pictures of the band-especially the old ones of the original 4 members of The Who!

Note: Charles is feeling better today and the swelling around the eyes has gone down, some! He'll be back to normal soon, I think! Cool! I was wondering if I could pull that Thanksgiving dinner off , on my own! :) Now it looks like I'll have my usual help in the kitchen next week!

I'm feeling better today, also, after being up later last night and sleeping a little later this morning! That way seems to work better for me! I don't like it when I wake up before 6:00! Late nights are my time for relaxation - usually with music! Last night was especially good and I ended the night with my favorite LOUD Rock band - THE WHO!

The best ever!

Project Black #9 ~ The Who

This is my #9 Project Black post!

There are still many Project Black possibilities around my place but today my thoughts turn to one of my favorite music groups ~The Who!

I have this neat little framed poster/picture that my grandson Zach gave me last Christmas and it is in my view whenever I'm in the kitchen area!

;) That's most of the time as this room is also where my computer is located! :)

Not that I need much in reminders as far as 'The Who' are concerned. I get the urge to play their music quite often with my cds or searching out Youtube vids online! That's what I did last night until way late....watched videos on Youtube.

A friend had sent E-mails telling me The Who had announced another tour for this fall! It seems to be a bit limited...well, so far anyway...with not a lot of dates and locations listed as yet; mostly in the NE and Ca. No dates listed near us!

Oh, well! I can't plan another WHO concert anyway! Lol! I was pushing my luck last year, getting Charles to take me to see them for the very first time, in Tampa!
(Even though our daughter bought us the tickets!)

Charles said he wouldn't do it again if someone paid him $1000.00! :) Really! He said that! :) LOL- So you see it could get quite expensive for me to swing another WHO concert!
(He's definitely NOT a Rock fan! )

But I have become a huge WHO fan!

Here are some pics from last year when we had the once in a lifetime chance of seeing this legendary band!

At least one of us was thrilled! (Hint- the one with the smiley face!) :)

My intention as we started out was to play C. some choice WHO music on the way to Tampa, to get him in the right frame of mind!!

I was not disappointed, in the least! I was on my feet the whole time! Funny how, tho that was my first ever WHO concert, I knew exactly how a true WHO fan was supposed to act! haha!

I found these videos of the musical tribute show that was put together after '9-11' which included a lot of music groups.
I watched several parts of 'The Who's performance at that event!

I watched Billy Joel, also, among others!

It was a very touching show but brought back all those memories of those dark days!
(Not that they are EVER gone from our minds!)

OK-I can do that! I listen to music every day and have a big variety that I like these days!

Have had Dan Fogelberg on my mind recently so today I looked up some Youtubes of his music! I was so happy to see a lot has been added since I last checked.

( FYI ~ Dan passed away late last year from cancer. I will always miss him and will always enjoy the music he gave us over more than 30 years!)

I listened to a lot of his music today but I think the one song I enjoyed most was the Youtube I have posted here ( actually 2 songs on this one)

2. 'Hickory Grove'- both by Dan Fogelberg

He sang both of these the first time we saw him in the early 70s. He looked so young and sweet and innocent-and had this angel voice! I was hooked from the start! Became the world's #1 DanFan! :)

5. 'Punish the Monkey'

- all of these I've listened to recently (Mark Knopfler of Dire Straits) I like him a lot and we will be seeing him end of this month, in a concert in Atlanta! Yipeee!! :)

This is one song I listen to often...well-I love ALL of Sarah's songs! She's wonderful!!!

7. 'See Me, Feel Me' - The Who

ok...this and a bunch of other WHO songs, I play often! They are my favorite LOUD Classic Rock band. I often end my music night with 'See Me, Feel Me' - the Woodstock version! :) Makes for a good night's sleep! Really!!
