"9-11" ~ 10th Anniversary

Sept 10, 2011
(posted on FB for...)
*10th Anniversary*
Sarah's beautiful song is perfectly suited as the music for these images of 9-11 - a day in our history that none of us will ever forget.

As hurtful as pictures of this day are, I will always feel compelled to remember and review and reflect., especially on the anniversary. I feel we owe that to the people who lost their lives so needlessly on that fateful day 10 years ago.

Sarah McLachlan ~'Ice'

~More from Sarah McLachlan~

Youtube

Ice
Sarah McLachlan

The ice is thin come on dive in
underneath my lucid skin
the cold is lost, forgotten
Hours pass days pass time stands still
light gets dark and darkness fills
my secret heart forbidden...
I think you worried for me then
the subtle ways that I'd give in but I know
you liked the show
tied down to this bed of shame
you tried to move around the pain but oh
your soul is anchored
The only comfort is the moving of the river
You enter into me, a lie upon your lips
offer what you can, I'll take all that I can get
only a fool's here...
I don't like your tragic sighs
as if your god has passed you by well hey fool
that's your deception
your angels speak with jilted tongues
the serpent's tale has come undone you have no
strength to squander
The only comfort is the moving of the river
You enter into me, a lie upon your lips
offer what you can, I'll take all that I can get
only a fool's here to stay
only a fool's here to stay
only a fool's here...

Sarah McLachlan ~ 'Answer'

~
  This is a beautiful song by Sarah McLachlan.

Enjoy!

Thanks to Youtube
and

"Answer"

I will be the answer

At the end of the line
I will be there for you
While you take the time
In the burning of uncertainty
I will be your solid ground
I will hold the balance
If you can't look down

If it takes my whole life

I won't break, I won't bend
It will all be worth it
Worth it in the end
Cause I can only tell you what I know
That I need you in my life
When the stars have all gone out
You'll still be burning so bright

Cast me gently

Into morning
For the night has been unkind
Take me to a
Place so holy
That I can wash this from my mind
The memory of choosing not to fight

If it takes my whole life

I won't break, I won't bend
It will all be worth it
Worth it in the end
'Cause I can only tell you what I know
That I need you in my life
When the stars have all burned out
You'll still be burning so bright

Cast me gently

Into morning
For the night has been unkind

Sarah

No other singer touches me as Sarah McLachlan does, with her stunningly beautiful lyrics and music!

Sarah's music is among my greatest pleasures at this point in my life!

Tagged!

Today I was tagged by Carletta at 'Round the Bend' to do a music meme!

She says...

Here are the rules:

'List seven songs you are into right now. No matter what
the genre, whether they have words, or even if they’re not any
good, but they must be songs you’re really enjoying now, shaping
your summer. Post these instructions in your blog along with
your seven songs. Then tag seven other people to see what
they’re listening to.'

~~~
OK-I can do that! I listen to music every day and have a big variety that I like these days!
Have had Dan Fogelberg on my mind recently so today I looked up some Youtubes of his music! I was so happy to see a lot has been added since I last checked.
( FYI ~ Dan passed away late last year from cancer. I will always miss him and will always enjoy the music he gave us over more than 30 years!)
I listened to a lot of his music today but I think the one song I enjoyed most was the Youtube I have posted here ( actually 2 songs on this one)
1. 'Looking For a Lady'
2. 'Hickory Grove'- both by Dan Fogelberg
He sang both of these the first time we saw him in the early 70s. He looked so young and sweet and innocent-and had this angel voice! I was hooked from the start! Became the world's #1 DanFan! :)
3. 'Brothers in Arms'
4.'Walk of Life'
5. 'Punish the Monkey'
- all of these I've listened to recently (Mark Knopfler of Dire Straits) I like him a lot and we will be seeing him end of this month, in a concert in Atlanta! Yipeee!! :)
6. 'I Will Remember You'- Sarah McLachlan-
This is one song I listen to often...well-I love ALL of Sarah's songs! She's wonderful!!!
7. 'See Me, Feel Me' - The Who
ok...this and a bunch of other WHO songs, I play often! They are my favorite LOUD Classic Rock band. I often end my music night with 'See Me, Feel Me' - the Woodstock version! :) Makes for a good night's sleep! Really!!
~~~

I won't tag anyone but if any of you want to do this - let me know!

I'd love to know the music some of you like!

Love,

Junie

Health Update ~ and Sarah's music!

Yesterday I got a great report back from the bone density test! I am so much improved I will no longer need to take the ' Actonel
' bone building /strengthening meds I have been taking for the past few years!

YAY!!

This was totally unexpected by me. I just assumed it would be a permanent thing for me...this taking of the medicine! But now- all I need to do is continue walking and taking calcium supplements!

I can do that!!

As the old saying goes......'Don't look a gift horse in the mouth!' ......
I will just be thankful for this gift and not examine it too closely! :)

...And consider this little added bonus!
This will give me $113.00 extra to spend for fun things every month! :) Cool, huh!!
Outrageous
price for 2 little pills - if you ask me!!

...

So - we did our walk again this morning! Not the most fun thing in the world to do but I'm giving it my best shot! I love to just amble along with my camera but I know I need to put more into it than that...so... I left my camera home this time!

...

One more thing I want to say (before going out in search of butterflies) ...I played my new Sarah McLachlan CD last night; 'Rarities, B-Sides, and Other Stuff.'

WOW! What a wonderful music listen that was!

Several of the songs on this CD are with a few other well known singers in the music world! It's very special!

There does not appear to be any Youtubes of this available yet!

Some samples of songs can be found here!

Sarah McLachlan is wonderful ~ pure and simple!

Junie

My Birthday Music!

Today my son decided to give me my birthday and Mother's Day gifts early. This was because he will be working on my actual birthday and, in fact, we don't intend to all get together until next week on Mother's Day! We will combine the 2 days as we usually do with so many special days coming along.

I don't mind stretching out my birthday...:) So I was real happy to get all this cool stuff from Chris today! :)

This is his gifts for both my days combined!

( He knows his old mom pretty well, I'd say!)

LOOK at all this neat stuff!!

If you click on the picture you can see better what they all are!

I haven't yet had a chance to listen or watch any of these but hope I can soon!

Tomorrow we are invited to my sister and brother-in-law's house for a birthday dinner.
I'm looking forward to that!

My actual day is Monday - 05-05-41! Yes! If you do the math you'll know for sure I'm no 'Spring Chicken!' Not that any of you had any doubt of that, I'm sure. haha

~~~
On some birthdays of the past I have been able to play little fantasy games with the numbers...You know- reversing the placement of the numbers... For instance- on my 51st birthday I could switch the numbers and pretend it was 15 instead...and 52 could change over to 25... Birthday 64- would be 46...
...Well- this birthday I think I will just stick with the real numbers...because 67...in my fantasy game - would turn out to be 76! :)
Lol - Truth is- they are all just numbers-so why worry about them?
~~~

So on my REAL birthday Monday, Charles is taking me out to dinner ~ Red Lobster- my favorite place to eat!

Sleepless in Ocala- again!

  Well, actually I haven't  tried yet...but you get to the place where you recognize the signs,  you know?

...For example, the past 2 nights I have not been able to sleep before  sometime beyond 3:30 AM. So I know it's useless to try  for sleep at a normal time- say 11:00 or 12:00.  And I have no reason to believe that tonight would be different .  I will give it a shot  within the next hour!

Am feeling very melancholy tonight!  Well, by now you all know my moods... how they  change course at the drop of a hat - or  whatever!  And at the least likely times, too...I mean- who would have suspected with all the photo/blogging fun I've been into for the past few days ...who would have thought... I'd come down with a case of  blues again!!  Oh, but I'll survive .  I always do!

 Perhaps listening to Sarah  was not the best choice tonight because most of her songs have a  feeling of sadness or discontent about them!  But I love her songs.  She sings with such feeling and honesty. I admire that and identify with it.

SO...sad or not I want to share this wonderful song  with you!

My expensive day!...Then some Sarah...

Today I had a dental appointment for what I expected to be just a routine cleaning! Oh-but- no! They are out to get ALL my $$$, I think!

They did a full mouth series of x-rays AND regular cleaning for a total of $237.00!
PLUS- I have to go back for some DEEP cleaning on some back teeth! Didn't make the appointment yet- but will soon!
(Another, almost, $300.00!) Yikes!!

And they recommend cleanings every 3 months! Of course they do! And they say, "floss, floss, floss!" (This would seem to work against them...but then, I guess they know, no one is relentless with their flossing- so they know it won't be that effective - and we (I)-will be back.
...As much as I hate having strangers probing around in my mouth with sharp objects and tiny vacuums and unexpected gusts of air and streams of water- I will be back, regardless !

Last words the girl told me as I was leaving...after giving me the news of this expensive work I 'm committed to... and after 2 hours of invading my mouth, was, "Have a good day!"
LOL! Yah, I will!

~~~
And I AM having a good one! I have been watching my new Sarah Video- "Sarah McLachlan, Afterglow Live." This is sooo good!
I just wish everyone could have this to enjoy!
Check out this Video! (Click to view)
....just another tricky day in the life of Junie Rose!
My shopping day!
Today I had to shop for groceries and other things.
It seems every year about this time, if I see African Violets where I shop- I can't resist buying a few! The colors are so varied and spring-like! And they don't cost a lot-plus they are easy to grow!
~~However-I managed to let all mine die, from dire neglect, this winter! :( ~~
All the more reason why I just had to get a few to get me in the spring mood! I like to put them in different colored and shaped baskets and decorate for spring and Easter!
Here are the ones I got today! Pretty, huh!!
~~~~~~

Also-I got this Sarah McLachlan 'Afterglow Live' CD and DVD.
I have most-if not all of these songs on other CDs but wanted this live CD. Haven't viewed the DVD yet but have played the CD-and it is sooo very good!

Sarah is tops with me!

I hope I am able to see her in concert again!

~~~
~~~some lyrics from 'I Will Remember You' ~~these lyrics touch me so deeply~ so sad~~~

..I’m so tired but I can’t sleep
Standin’ on the edge of something much too deep
It’s funny how we feel so much but we cannot say a word
We are screaming inside, but we can’t be heard

But I will remember you
Will you remember me?
Don’t let your life pass you by
Weep not for the memories...

"I Will Remember You"

~ The wonderful Sarah McLachlan ! ~

~~~~~~~
Today I have been watching Sarah on some videos I have found!
This is one of her most beautiful songs! She sings this with such feeling ...impossible not to be touched by the sadness of this song!
~~~~~~~

I Will Remember You

I will remember you,
will you remember me?
Don't let your life pass you by
Weep not for the memories

Remember the good times that we had?
I let them slip away from us when things got bad
How clearly I first saw you smilin' in the sun
Wanna feel your warmth upon me
I wanna be the one

I will remember you
Will you remember me?
Don't let your life pass you by
Weep not for the memories

I'm so tired but I can't sleep
Standin' on the edge of something much too deep
It's funny how we feel so much but we cannot say a word
We are screaming inside
But we can't be heard

But I will remember you
Will you remember me?
Don't let your life pass you by
Weep not for the memories

I'm so afraid to love you
But more afraid to lose
Clinging to a past that doesn't let me choose
Once there was a darkness
Deep and endless night
You gave me everything you had
Oh you gave me light

And I will remember you
Will you remember me?
Don't let your life pass you by
Weep not for the memories

And I will remember you
Will you remember me?
Don't let your life pass you by
Weep not for the memories
Weep not for the memories

Always with Love,

Juniper

Coming on Christmas, they're cuttin' down trees...

I like this card I recieved from a cousin and it reminded me of this song.

"RIVER"

This is a Joni Mitchell song performed by Sarah McLachlan so wonderfully well on her Christmas album, 'Wintersong.'

(view it on YouTube)

~~~Some of the lyrics~~
River
It's coming on Christmas
They're cutting down trees
They're putting up reindeer
And singing songs of joy and peace
Oh I wish I had a river
I could skate away on
But it don't snow here
It stays pretty green
I'm going to make a lot of money
Then I'm going to quit this crazy scene
I wish I had a river
I could skate away on
I wish I had a river so long
I would teach my feet to fly
Oh I wish I had a river
I could skate away on
I made my baby cry~~~
~~~Sad~~~

My night-so far!

OK- we went out tonight, as I wanted to get the Sarah CD I have been so 'carried away' with since yesterday! I found it at Target!
It 's a very nice mix-all done in Sarah's special way! My favorite of all is 'River'-the Joni Mitchell song ! (The link I posted )

This CD is worth adding to any Christmas music collection!

~~~~
I also saw this little ornament Santa and found him very charming-so he came home with me!
Here he is on my computer desk!
He looks a little distressed at the messiness of my desk!
Well-yes, Santa-I could use a bigger computer desk! (Hint-Hint!!)
~~~~

Now I'm off to try for that elusive sleep!

I finally did it!

It took me 3 days to get started but tonight I just DID IT! I made those Harvest Cakes! I always try to do them in advance of the actual Big Turkey day to make it a little easier! Now...if I can only find a safe place to hide them, in the WAY BACK of my freezer, I'll be ok!!

Lol- I DO make a big mess-but that's ok!

Some happy moments happened today for me!

#1
Three of the kids stopped by- my daughter, Tina, grandson, Brian and granddaughter, Allison! That's always a pleasure for
me!

#2
I learned today that Sarah McLachlan has a new CHRISTMAS CD out! I can't wait to get it!! Some of it can be heard here and it is just beautiful!

#3
While I made the cakes I was playing my James Taylor Christmas music and then I played Dan Fogelberg's 'First Christmas Morning,'...a wonderful night of music!

NOW- hope I can sleep!

My music night~Last night 9-6-06 (Post#2 of today)

Just have to mention my late night music of last night...because it helped me relax and sleep well.

I started with Moody Blues-'Days of Future Passed' ,(just wonderful)

... then ended the evening with 2 of Sarah's CDs, my 2 favorites of her's,
'Surfacing' and 'Afterglow.'

Sarah McLachlan is The Best female singer around -IMO
I have been enjoying the videos available on YouTube. I have found several of Sarah.

I hope to see her in concert again!

~~~
Anyway, the good music made for a better night's sleep for me!
~~~some lyrics from a favorite song of Sarah McLachlan's' Surfacing' CD~~~

Lyrics from

'Do What You Have To Do'

...Trying to escape this desire
The yearning to be near you
I do what I have to do
The yearning to be near you
I do what I have to do
But I have the sense to recognize
That I don’t know how
To let you go...
