These girls must be thinking

'Spring'

in their pretty Mellow Yellow print dresses!

...And, even though, this girl is
wearing a light sweater -
notice she has chosen a pretty yellow-spring-like color!

:)

Count me in on the Spring-Thing!

I'm ready to say bye bye to the cold days and nights !

days in the life...

~~~
One day last week my sweet daughter Tina asked me if I wanted to go shopping.
Here we are - ready to go!!
Of course I wanted to go because we have a wedding to attend in October! I needed to shop for a new outfit to wear. I mentioned this before...about my difficulties in finding something!
Well, as it turned out this outing with Tina produced 2 possibilities...though I'm not sure... and not at all thrilled with either of them. I'll still keep looking for a pretty dress...but if all else fails I will wear one of these blouses with a nice pair of blue silk slacks I already have!
( lol- at least I know I will have something other than my jeans-haha- or a dress that's 15 years old!)
As you see both these blouses are fall colors so even if I find something else I'll find these useful through the fall and winter season here!
(Oh, my- the trials of Junie Rose...)
Tina and I had a nice time out together...but we were missing our Alli!
We had a good lunch at Cracker Barrel. I love that place-the food-AND the store!
I bought this cute chicken candle holder!
(The big guy behind is not new!!)
Tina was also up Sunday..You see, we have this thing going...each Sunday Tina comes up with her scale and we each weigh. ( Charles, Tina and me...also Alli when she was home) It helps keep us on track to know that we all will be weighing-all in plain view of each other- each week! haha....Well...I'm happy to report I had a good wt. loss this past week...more than 3 pounds!!
YAY for Ginga!! :)
(Tina and Lucy)
Today I had a Dr. appointment...My BAD Cholesterol is a little out of whack! For the first time I'm on medication for that now! Dang it! Have to change that if I can! I go back in Nov. and am determined to have a much better report!
As we were about to leave for the appointment I asked C. to get my picture with my new baby. LOL- she looks like she could be my baby for real, doesn't she? (with her blue eyes and blond curls)
(lol- silly old girl - Junie Rose...or is that 'Ginga?')
Have a good night, my friends!
Love,
Junie
Shadow Shot Sunday
for
Sept 13, 2009
*Go here to find other Shadow Shots!*
My husband, having grown up in the country,
is drawn to things like this; and, to be honest-
so am I! :)
We stopped at a junk yard (on a recent trip to North West Florida)
and found the neatest collection of old farm implements!
I liked the shadows these old machines cast!
New dolls
~~~
Here are some dolls I bought today!

Aren't they pretty!! :)

I loved the little baby doll. This Seymour Mann collector doll is almost life size and very realistic. She came with the high chair for display, also!

AND...

I'm always drawn to any doll that is dressed in holiday Attire and this little girl holding a Christmas Carol book and singing and dressed in her fur trimmed cape caught my eye right away! She will be a perfect addition for my Christmas displays!

...Then there's this beautiful lady doll...

~~~
The way all this came about was like this...
Yesterday I got an email from a niece, telling me that her long time friend who lives in Altamont Springs (Orlando) was having a garage sale this weekend. My niece, Evie, remembered that I collect dolls and knew I'd be interested in this opportunity to see these.
Oh! Yes!! :) You ALL know how I love dolls!
Charles agreed we could ride down and check them out.
These dolls were part of the collection of Evie's friend's mother who had passed away about a year ago. I had met my niece's friend just once, but it was many years past. She was such a nice lady to talk with ...was pleased to let some of her mom's dolls go to someone who would appreciate them and take care of them.
I had decided on the baby and the little Christmas girl...but I really was also attracted to the beautiful lady doll. The colors were perfect for my living room, as my couches in there are rose colored.
Cathie insisted on giving me this one, too. She said,"This is for my mom!" :)
Of course I will enjoy having this pretty lady in my living room!
~~~

We got to see our granddaughter too, as we were not far from her college. Alli met us for lunch. She suggested this BBQ place! The food was very good and the place was decorated in a fun way; lots and lots of pigs! :)

A few pics:

It was a very nice day for us!

Hope you've all had a good one.

Love,
Junie

This is a small collection of Kiln Craft Cat Mugs ( B. Kliban) which I have had for a long time! I had one more which I accidentally dropped and broke! :(
These were given to me by my 2 daughters more than 20 years ago! I love them!

I see there are lots of them listed on EBay!
I just may add to my collection!

Today ~May 8, 2009

Today I must continue with this, seemingly, insurmountable project I have going with going through stuff...pictures and mementos of years past-also craft supplies and projects...discarded electronics...you name it- it's in there!!

I don't dare show you much of the mess but I will show a little of it-later!
Maybe I will! :)

This little room, just off my kitchen, was intended to be my craft room but, over time, it has become a junk room! The whole area was once my utility/laundry room but years ago we made 2 separate areas of it. When I was into my crafts it was fixed up to suit my needs perfectly! After I drifted away from crafting and into blogging :) the little room went downhill in a hurry! It's really in dire straits right now! :(

~~
THIS is the kind of things I once created there!
I want to do it again!

~~

What prompted me to tackle this right now was the fact that my sister asked me (yet again) about some family pictures she had let me borrow to scan for my own use. At the time, my scanner was not working so I just put them away for later...I could not remember just WHERE I had put them...hence this exhausting but much needed reorganizing of my JUNK ROOM!!

I'm happy to say I FOUND the pictures and will be able to return them to her soon! ( If I don't misplace them again, that is!)

Also~ we will have the whole family (except Marc) here for Mother's Day Sunday. I really have much to do to prepare...but I'll do what I can and not worry about the rest! (Yah, sure...not worry!!)

For now I must go and tackle this monster!

Oh yah! Just to add to the excitement...late last night I saw a mouse in my laundry room!!
I hate the thoughts of nasty little critters in my house! ... so I have a plan for him...

I'll be back!

Ruby Tuesday~ Captain America

It's Ruby Tuesday and I am finally getting back to posting some RED!

Thanks to Mary, The Teach for keeping this Ruby Red project going!

Looking through my photos I came across this guy.

It's a collector figure/bank that my son bought awhile back for himself.

As a kid my son Chris was very into comics and Super Hero guys and had a huge collection of all kinds of things relating to this interest!
;) And at the same time, music albums, cds, posters- and old radio shows. He STILL has a huge collection of all these things!

Anyway, I thought Captain America was perfect for Ruby Tuesday~ in his red and blue costume!

He was always Chris' favorite Super Hero and mine too! :)

Who could NOT like Captain America?

Alphabet Soup Tuesday~10~7~'08

It's time again for Alphabet Soup Tuesday!

 Visit Morning Glory for more on this!

Today we  will list things that begin with the letter 'D' which  add 'Delight' to our Days!

For me,  at the top of my list  would have to be my first grandson 'Dan!'

Our Dan was always a 'delight' to us and still is!

These pictures are:

Dan and his  brother Brian when they were just little guys-hauling wood for a bonfire! :) Dan is the one in the red vest-showing off his muscles!  :)  (Good old days!)

Dan and his granny (Ginga)
 This was Dan, after graduation from high school.

~~~
Another special 'D' person in my life has been Dan Fogelberg and his beautiful music! (since the early 70's)
I was devastated with the news of his illness and his eventual passing in 2007.
  (  1951~2007 )
Dan Fogelberg ~ 'Longer'
( Youtube Video presented by ardenHK )
  ~~~

Other very Dear 'Ds' in my life:

My dad...
 (who we lost way too early, at age 59)

My sister Dolores...
 (I have been blessed with 3 sisters and they are all very dear to me!)

My dolls...
  Oh yes!  I love dolls and have a lot in my collection!
This is an antique bisque doll-one of the few real old ones that I have. I mostly have more recent artist collector dolls.

Last-I must include 'Dogs!'

Our dogs have always been a
definite factor in our lives! We've had many- in fact- have never been without a dog in our family!

This is the only little girl we have  left and she's getting old.  She is over 12 years old now.

What 'D' things  dominate  your days?

Alphabet Soup ~ Sept 30, 2008 (see Ruby Tuesday post below this one)

On Tuesdays, Morning Glory sponsors a little thing called Alphabet Soup.

This week is the letter 'C' and we are looking for things that begin with this letter that add
'cheer' or 'comfort' to our lives...maybe even 'comic relief!' :)

What 'C' things take
'Center Stage' in your life?

Here are a few 'C' things in my life that I
Couldn't do without!
(well, it would be very hard...)

My husband and my son's names begin with 'C'
(Charles and Christopher)
'C' also stands for children...my 2 daughters and my 4 grand children

This is a very early picture of our family!

My Grand-CHILDREN have often provided the
'Comic Relief' in our lives! :)

More 'C' things that help to make my life
complete are...

Coffee in my current favorite cup!
OOPS! I need a refill here!

Cats~

Cows~

Crafts~

Clouds~

Candy and cookies~mostly chocolate~
and my dear mom's favorite ~Chocolate Covered Cherries!

And of course ~ all things CHRISTMAS!

Love,
Junie
