Ruby Tuesday 2 - May15, 2012 - Strawberry Surprise

~~~
~~~

On the day of our Mother's Day celebration  (on Saturday) we had a  Fed Ex delivery of these 3 boxes!
I couldn't imagine what they were or who they were from!

Turns out my daughter, Tammy, ordered these 3 boxes of Chocolate dipped cherries  and had them delivered just before her arrival here! The 3 gifts were for Me, her sister, Tina, and her sister-in-law, Joy!

~Tammy and Alli~

What a sweet surprise!

Tina had to work on Saturday so she didn't get to sample hers
until she could come up the next day, on Mother's Day!

 Yummy!

Thanks, Tam!!

Monday-5-11-'09

I hope all the Moms out there had a wonderful day yesterday-just as we did here!

For once I didn't get a whole lot of pictures but we did get a few which I will post!

It was a fun but very hectic day !

Tina and Alli just returned from a quick trip to Chicago and then drove straight from the airport in Orlando to our place.

Tammy's family also had to drive up from Orlando!

My grandsons in Gainesville had to work part of the day so they were late in getting here!

LOL....and my son was just here for a little while before having to go to work!

MY goodness-what families go through for a few hours of getting together! But, of course, it's always worth it! :)

My girls, Tina and Alli, brought me this shirt from Chicago! I just LOVE IT!

These are some of my other gifts!

The shirt is also from Tina (for my birthday) and my little Alli got me the Salt & Pepper shakers in Chicago. The book is from Tam's family!
( lol-I like that! I still read a lot of books!)

Charles gave me this beautiful plant. It's called Anthurium . I had never had one of these! It's perfect for the foyer entrance and gives us a place for this marble top table we had no place for!

On the opposite side of our entrance area I put together this arrangement! The big red topped plant is from Tina.
(for our anniversary)

My roses from Chris are more opened up and are very beautiful!

Didn't get any good pics of my grands this time! :(

....But - some more of Charles and me and my daughters!

It was a very good day!

Thoughts of Mom this Mother's Day

( written May 9th )

As this Mother's Day nears I find myself thinking of our dear mom! I still miss her very much as do the rest of the family, I'm sure! She was everything a mom should be, with more love to give than anyone I have ever known!

Here are my mom's children ~ all 5 of us ~ at different stages of our lives!

This is mom at a very young age with her first child,
my brother, Ray!

(Ray is 13 years older than me )

This is a picture of my 2 older sisters.
Gloria (9 yrs. older than me) and Dolores (7 yrs. older than me)

My sister Joy was the baby, with me 3 years older! We were ages 9 and 6 in these pictures below!

~~~Don't you think the second set of sisters look a lot like the older sisters? :) ~~~
This is Mom in later years.
Always in our hearts, Mom!
~~~

We will have our family here a little later.

My son, Chris , will have to go to work so he had my gift delivered early!
These roses! :)

Thanks, Chris!

Happy Mother's Day to ALL !

PS~Please excuse that pink bar up there! I have no idea what it is or how to remove it! :(

THIS IS LOVE

Precious words drift away from their meanings
and the sun melts the chill from our lives
helping us all to remember what we came here for
this is love
this is la la la la love
this is love
this is la la la la love

Little things that will change you forever
may appear from way out of the blue
Making fools of everybody who don't understand
This is love
this is la la la la love
this is love
this is la la la la love

This is love, this is love
this is love, this is la la la la love

Since our problems have been our own creation
they also can be overcome
When we use the power provided free to everyone
this is love
this is la la la la love
this is love

Our Family Birthday Celebration! 4~5~'09

Today most of us were able to get together and help Charles (Gabbo) celebrate his birthday -which was April 1st!

Yep, he was an April Fool baby all those 74 years ago and says he always was teased about this fact! :) I suppose that is only as to be expected of this birth date ! :) LOL- He has said some of his siblings would tell him,"Mother thought she would have a pretty baby but she had you!" ;)

HA!...But that's a dumb joke if you take a look at what a pretty
little boy he actually was!! :)
This pic always reminds me of the Baby/little boy Elvis Presley pictures I have seen.

~~~
I was up late preparing food for today's party...(We cancelled going to the chili cook-off yesterday because I just had too much to do here-especially after making the trip the day before to see our friends in Zephyrhills.)
I didn't get to bed-to sleep- until about 3:00 AM! I was coloring eggs at about 2:30! (-LOL-Yep-I'm a bit cracked -I know that!) See-this party had to be Easter themed, as we won't be here on Easter! Colored eggs are just always something I want to do! I can't let go the traditions!
Anyway, I pulled it all together- one more time! We all had a lot of fun! Charles got some great gifts...and the best gift I'm sure he would agree, is the love of the family.
Everyone was here except son-in-law, Marc who is a trucker and only gets home every few weeks! :(
(Missed you Marc!)
The hat you see in some of the pics is from me. It's a David Morgan, fine felt Australian hat! Charles has always liked these hats and wanted one...lol- now he wants lots more of them! Oh, my ! What have I started here?
I also bought that painting of the cowboy. Our grandson Brian painted this and both Charles and I always liked it a lot. I was so happy to buy it from Bri for a very special gift for his granddad!
He got a lot of other cool gifts too...political books- cd's a very nice shirt and a COOL DUDE coffee mug! And my sis and Bro-in-law gave him 2 giant size jars of the gourmet olives he soo loves! :)
~~~

As I was getting things together on the serving table I realized this new serving stand I had would work well with My Mom's little party plates that I have. I thought they were just right for holding the marshmallow peeps and eggs that I always MUST have for this season! And I thought of Mom and that she would be happy to see this if she were here! Then I thought..."She is happy to see this!" It made me feel closer to Mom, using her little plates!

LOL- When the girls came a little later, Charles, being true to form with his off the wall humor, said... "Later, Mom's gonna have a 'Peep Show' posted on the blog!"
...Ha! I had to point out the bunny and chick PEEPS he was talking about! :)

Here we are - my sis Joy and me- trying out the tea and Tea Pot I got from my blog friend Pea earlier this week!
We loved the tea and everyone liked the little tea pot a lot! :)

From Pea ~ to me!

I was so thrilled to win Pea's 3rd Anniversary blog give-away and had been happily awaiting the package arrival! It came earlier this week! I missed the first mail delivery attempt as I was out shopping so Charles picked it up at the post office the next day!

Oh, my!! It's a very beautiful little tea pot and perfect for spring! Pea also included an assortment of delicious smelling teas for me to sample~and a personal note with the sweetest little faerie girl decorating the paper!

I haven't tried any of them yet but will tomorrow when my daughters are here ~ and Alli~ and my sister!
LOL-OK~ I'll include the guys too!
This will add to the birthday celebration for Charles!

Again~Thanks so much, Dear Pea.

I WON!!

My friend Donna, at Made in Heaven, recently had a 'give -a-way' drawing for a couple neat things!

I don't often win these give-a-ways that my blog friends have but I got lucky this time!! :)

Here are the prizes I won! They arrived on Friday! I LOVE getting packages! I'm like a little kid in that way! :)

Here's what I got...this cool Goose Berry Patch cookbook and the little natural grass place mat! The mat is just perfect for my little turkey planter to sit on! :) It's just the colors I would have picked, too!

Thanks Donna-I love them both-and also the pretty card you enclosed!

~~~
I have things to do tonight so I will make this post short!
Hope you all have a good night.
A Birthday...and much more
Today was my sister's birthday...my baby sister! : ) Joy is 3 years younger than me.
I tell her she will never catch up with me, though, and I will always be the big sister-and she- the baby sister! ;)
Neither of us are 'spring chicks' any more...sad but true! ( Chicks, maybe, just not at the 'Spring' stage anymore! haha )
Here we are at about ages one and four.
And as teenagers...
And a more recent one of us.
I'm not sure when this was but it was Christmas. Joy had given me the fluffy chicken as a gift! :)
Happy Birthday, Sis!
We weren't able to get together today, but hope to one day next week! I bought her a neat gift today! :) It's all wrapped up and I must keep it as a surprise so can't tell, even you guys, what it is!
I got for me these new duds, too! Don't you just LOVE 70% off sales? I got 2 pants, 2 shirts and the birthday gift - all for $61.00 and change! :)
I came out of that store smiling!! :)
...I also got this cute little crafty , Christmasy looking, sheep at a little country type shop next door to the Dept. Store. I had never been in the store but they really have some neat things in there! I decorate a lot at Christmas and love the old fashioned look. This little sheep will fit in, fine!
I was really beat by the time I finished my shopping, including grocery shopping- so the rest of the day I did nothing at all! ( except cook a little supper for the guys)
I relaxed with some good Mark Knopfler music on Youtube and posted one for your viewing pleasure in the post below this one! :)
I DO become a little fanatical about things I like a lot! Have you noticed?? :) Oh well, that's just me... all part of the package!
~~~

Tomorrow I will continue with the Alabama trip!

Have a good night, y'all!
