Sarah McLachlan

Last night I was up late with the music of the wonderful Sarah McLachlan.

Over the past couple of years she has become one of my top favorites. I have been able to see her twice in concert and she puts on a great show!

She is soft rock with a bit of a folk sound to some of her songs. She writes all of her own songs...very talented lady!
She is from Canada..

Sarah writes of such Real feelings, to which we can all relate! (or, I do, anyway)
And she sings with the voice of an angel!

Below, see lyrics of one of my favorites of Sarah McLachlan. This is from her "Afterglow" album.
This is my favorite of the CDs I have of hers. There's still a couple I don't have!!

~~~~~
Fallen
Heaven bend to take my hand
And lead me through the fire
Be the long awaited answer
To a long and painful fight
Truth be told I've tried my best
But somewhere along the way
I got caught up in all there was to offer
And the cost was so much more than I could bear
Though I've tried, I've fallen...
I have sunk so low
I have messed up
Better I should know
So don't come round here
And tell me I told you so...
We all begin with good intent
Love was raw and young
We believed that we could change ourselves
THe past could be undone
But we carry on our backs the burden
Time always reveals
The lonely light of morning
The wound that would not heal
It's the bitter taste of losing everything
That I have held so dear.
I've fallen...
I have sunk so low
I have messed up
Better I should know
So don't come round here
And tell me I told you so...
Heaven bend to take my hand
Nowhere left to turn
I'm lost to those I thought were friends
To everyone I know
Oh they turn their heads embarassed
Pretend that they don't see
But it's one missed step
One slip before you know it
And there doesn't seem a way to be redeemed
Though I've tried, I've fallen...
I have sunk so low
I have messed up
Better I should know
So don't come round here
And tell me I told you so...
:)- Joy-you and I seem to have a lot in common!
Now don't tell me you are a big WHO fan too!! :) ... probably not!
Yes, Sarah was just wonderful the 2 times I saw her. The first time was with my daughter and granddaughter-(in Atlanta) and then again last year in Orlando with my husband!...both times, a gift from my daughter, Tina!
My most favorite singer over the years (since mid 70s) has been Dan Fogelberg! Do you know his music?
Most of this other music I've mentioned is NEW to me in the past couple years! lol- trying to make up for lost time here! (but just lost time in music !!)
I DO like the Who...and Dan Fogelberg; but don't have a lot of their music. Actually, I have a pretty eclectic collection of music...no specific type, as long as the voice is great, the melody is solid, and the lyrics are meaningful. That's not asking too much, is it?
Fantastic!
Dan's music has been a BIG thing for me all through the years...I have ALL of his music... I saw him in concert almost a dozen times and planned to see him again but he had to cancel his last tour! He is fighting Prostate Cancer...so sad...
... for so many years I just had a few favorites..Dan at the top of my list-and Jackson Browne in the # 2 spot! :)
...THEN-I got on a music message board and got interested in ALL the classic rock music of the 60s and 70s! I found I had missed out on so much!
For loud, wild-hard Rock- THE WHO can't be beat-IMO
;) I would LOVE to see them (and they may tour this year) but I doubt if I can manage that!
Junie, It's funny you should mention the 70's. I just bought a whole series (10 CD's) of the Classic Rock of the 70's. What a blast!
