In pursuit of...
...Junie - in pursuit of ' The Great Pumpkin' today! :)
Well, not really but I did have pumpkins and Halloween stuff on my mind and I saw a lot of neat stuff when I went shopping; pumpkins, witches, spiders, bats, black cats,RATS, skeletons every kind of creepy Halloween character you can imagine!
I LOVE this stuff, you know!! I miss it all- dang it- since my kids and grands grew up!!
Here are some things I bought today! Yep- I did buy one of those pumpkins with a light inside! ( I have some more of these but they are not out yet) But I'm sure he's not The Great Pumpkin...He's rather small but he does have a nice smile!
I bought 4 potted Mums and 2 pumpkin scented candles...
and...
a cd of Alice Cooper~ ( Alice Cooper's Super Hits)
LOL! Now, what could be more scary than that for Halloween?
Oh! And speaking of 'The Great Pumpkin'~ look at this big guy! We saw this one in NC last fall!
Love,
Junie Rose

Thanks for the cheery (not scary) reminder about Halloween. I tend to forget about it - it's not well known here in Australia, and as it's springtime here, there are no pumpkins. Although there is pumpkin to buy for cooking with. It's mainly used as a roasted vegetable or soup here, I don't think I've ever seen pumpkin pie. I should make one myself one day!
Oh Miz Junie...I had to laugh at that CD of Alice Cooper sitting there on your "spook table"...lol...lol!! He sure is scary in that picture!
The last picture of you and that "Great" pumpkin is awesome!
love & hugs :)
I laughed out loud when I saw the Alice Cd!! I saw him once, in 1974, in concert. I know...I AM an oldster! *laugh* I am so glad you stopped by my blog for a visit. I have seen you on Tammy's blog and Pea's as well. I hope we can get acquainted too! LOVE the pic of you with the great pumpkin! I so love Fall and the colors and tastes and fun events.
I have really enjoyed reading and looking through your wonderful blog. I will be back often...
You have a lovely family!!
Have a sweet weekend!
Hugs,
Sue, who has a Beatles CD playing right now!
Hi Sue,
So glad to meet you. Thanks for stopping by!
:) Happy to have a music person visit! ;) I have an online friend who has gotten me into -oh- a whole lot of classic rock music- just the past couple of years! LOL! Yes-even Alice Cooper!
I somehow missed a lot along the way- was busy being a wife and mom during those years through the late 60s -early 70s.
And yer a Beatles fan!! cool!
They're high on my list, of course!
Actually- my favorite Classic Rock band I have to say is The Who! And this year I was finally able to see them in concert...something I never expected to ever do! ( probably at the end of their long career)
I also enjoy reading a lot and have read all of Steinbeck's books- plus the others you mentioned. I also read all of Stephen King and Dean Koontz- and many more-
Thanks again for coming by.
Junie
I so love this time of year as well and have been enjoying all the pumpkins and such seen around the area and on blogland:-) Yup, Alice sure looks right at home beside the pumpkin! LOL Love it! Wow, that is a huge pumpkin you posed beside...it's the great pumpkin Charlie Brown!! hehe xoxo
I like the lighted pumpkin!
Alice Cooper DOES look creeeepy!!
The only Halloween decorations I have up are two skulls (fake ones, BTW) on my kitchen bar counter.
They look pretty eerie there between some candles.
That big pumpkin would make a LOT of pies!!
Hi Pea,
:) glad you enjoyed this post! lol- Yes- AC fits in well, doesn't he!
xox
Junie
JD,
LOL- happy yer skulls are fake ones!!
;) MY Daughter Tam has some real animal skulls around her place- you may have seen in some of my recent posts.
Yes- Alice Cooper does look pretty creepy but it's all for fun- I think!
At least my friend tells me he's really very conservative...;)
Junie
I'm listening to Creedance right now. That Alice Cooper CD looks like it fits right in on that table, hehehe.
I love that picture of you and the great pumpkin. I bet that thing is heavy.
I lost my doctor early this year and the clinic has yet to replace her. That means no tests or Gyn exams (Horay!) until they find another MD.
We had a little toy poodle named PJ and she died in 2004 after being the best doggy in the world. She was 15 years old, had cataracts and wore diapers for about 6 months before her death. We really miss her and vowed that we wouldn't be hurt, by a loss of a pet (family member) again. That's when the cats started showing up and I'm convinced that Jybow is PJ reincarnated.
Sandy,
I'm sorry you lost yer little poodle. They are always very special. We have had several over the years.
And I love reading about your cats and seeing pictures. We have always had cats and dogs. I have 2 very special cats that I have posted about pretty often here. They are outdoor cats. Cats seem happier when they are allowed the freedom of the outdoors. Mine have a way into the screened back porch when they want to be there.
I admire you for taking care of so many cats...I was tempted to bring home some strays the other day , hanging around a fast food place we were at. There were 3 of them...pretty little gray, half grown cats! But C. said 'No!'
Junie
