We have a small herd of cattle on our little farm.

Recently 2 of our cows had babies.

This first photo is the one  born about 2 weeks ago. They,  almost immediately, mingle with the rest of the herd. This one is already  very comfortable with all the big cows around her.

This is Mary Beth with her new baby May!

This is Cloud, just a few days before she had her baby!

 This is her baby girl, Cleo! 

She is 3 days old but I just saw her for the first time yesterday!

The mom , apparently, didn't like so much attention being paid to her new baby and quickly came over and whisked her away to join the other cows!

I'm happy these 2 new babies are girls because that means they will most likely remain as part of our herd - not be sold at a few months!

Alli and her "Plain White T's"- May, 2011

I guess you might say my girls are BIG FANS of the band - "Plain White T's"  Last weekend they saw them for the 29th and 30th times ~in Orlando and then in Tampa/Clearwater area.  Tina and Alli spent a couple nights at a neat hotel right on the gulf. (They got some good sunset shots but the focus of this post will be the band-Plain White T's-and ALLI!)  :)

It's a given that she will get to 'hang out' with them a bit each time she goes to a show...after all, she has been seeing them since she was age 13...that's a long time! She will be 21 in December!  And you might remember Alli won a contest and got to sing on stage with them in 2008-  lol - and I got to travel with them to Texas for this event!

Today's Flowers-May 22, 2011-Magnolias

The magnolia trees around our town have been spectacular this time.  The one tree I have in my yard, however, hasn't had a lot of blooms, and they are mostly high up in the tree so that I haven't been able to get many pictures!  I got lucky today and found a couple of blooms  that I could  photograph.

No flowering tree is more representative of the south than the magnificent Magnolia.

Warren Zevon's final album. "The Wind" was worked on and completed the months before his death in 2003. Many well known artists, and friends of Warren in the music business, were with him to the end of this final project. I, so, admired Warren's courage and determination in doing this, and I admired the friends who stood beside him and helped him make this possible!

This is an excellent album and very touching to get through...knowing the circumstances.

It's an album I cherish!

This is an old rustic barn we spotted in our world of north Florida.

We don't have a lot of these old buildings in our area so I'm always happy when we find one!  I'm glad this one has been left standing for awhile, though I doubt if it's used as a barn these days. It's right next to a busy highway!

Mellow Yellow Monday (For Monday, May 9, 2011)

This is a flower called 'Four O'clock.'

The flowers open in the late afternoon, and on overcast, rainy and gloomy days!

They add a bright and welcomed show, where ever they choose to grow and bloom!

Another interesting thing about them is the way the flower colors mingle... I'm constantly amazed and delighted at some of the combinations I see in the flowers!

  They grow wild here at our place and come back every year in the little garden I've set aside for  my mom's remembrance garden. Mom loved these flowers and I'm always happy to see them start to grow and bloom again every spring! By the end of late summer the plants have grown tall and straggly but the sweet little flowers make it all worth while! They have a glorious scent and attract butterflies and hummingbirds.

I have yellow and dark pink ones that grow together in this spot and the flowers  are ever changing!

I like that!
