The kid and the Granny

Time is a 'Thing!'

I just came across this picture in my i-photo files and was shocked to see the date of this pic is 2005!

Doesn't seem that long ago when we took this photo... and Alli was still our little teen-girl at home!

Well, the 'Ole Granny' is still here but Alli is all grown up now and away at college...well on her way to becoming a nurse

or perhaps something else in the medical field! Lots of options there for a girl like Alli!

I searched for hours to find this group of pictures from my granddaughters kindergarten class. (or maybe it was 1st grade)

 I remember this little project had to do with '100 items.' The children were to make a little parade on wheels with 100 items of their choice - glued to something that had wheels!  :) It may have been to mark 100 days in school..( this was in Feb,1997)...I just can't remember the details. (and Alli is away at college and I can't ask her  :)  )

Look closely and you can see that Alli used 'Happy Meal' toys to make up her float for the parade! Luckily for her she had 2 brothers before her who had consumed a lot of kid's meals before she came along!  She might have been shy a few without their help!  :)

(But maybe NOT!)

 

 Oh! I miss those fun days!!

This is going way back to the early 70's ( Miami,Fl ) and remembering a very sweet cat who I loved a lot! His name was 'Kanukki !'

We got him from a couple of Nuns who had to give him up because they were moving . They had named him and if I ever knew the meaning or origin of his name I have long since forgotten!
(Does anyone know this name?)

'Nukki' had some health problems and we knew he'd not be with us long...but he was a joy to have in our lives for awhile! He was so very beautiful...and I still remember the sound of his purring and his loving nature!

My mom in 1995


Today I awoke thinking of Mom as I, often, still do.

Today is the 7th. anniversary of her leaving us and it still seems strange and unreal, not to have her here! The sadness will never leave us.

This is a well remembered pose of our 'Ma-Ma' -talking on the phone to some of the family! :) She always wanted to keep in touch with those she loved!
