Yes! We're home!

Yes~ we're home and what a fun trip it was! :)

LOL ~ Well, some of you might think that it takes
very little to make this lady happy! Maybe you'd be right, too, in thinking that... but to be honest, I'm so happy I can find such joy in the ordinary things we encounter in our life.

For instance...
the big thrill for me on the way to Milton was photographing ~ wildflowers ~ water towers in the small towns and rusty farm implements/junk in a junk yard!

Charles was very patient with me in my quest to capture the towers (we got several on this trip) and also in stopping along roadsides to get close -ups of wildflowers! We also saw this beautiful flowering bush-not realizing at first that it was the familiar 'Red Top' bush that we know! We had never seen it in bloom, but only as a trimmed hedge plant! The blooms are really pretty!

LOL- Several times on this trip we made U-turns to backtrack to get a better look at some thing or another! Here are a few of the flowers and towers and other things we saw along the way!

... AND ~ the junk yard we stopped at! :)

Yes! I love looking at this old stuff and taking pictures! ... Charles can identify anything in there but I sure can't! :) I just love the shapes of things and the old rust colors, with touches of faded reds and greens, here and there!

The fellow working there-the owner of all this cool stuff, I presume - seemed real happy to have folks to talk to and to show off his 'treasures' to! ( We may have been his only customers of the day~ or week, even!)

Somehow Charles' age came into the conversation...and the guy couldn't believe C. when he told him he is 74! The man said, "But you married a much younger woman, I see!" HAHA- ...OK- instead of letting the guy think he had a
-40 something...or even-50 something wifey... (hahaha) Charles said, "Yes, she's 6 years younger than me!"

What!!! :)

Man! I like that distorted view of reality these north west Florida men have! haha

~I was busy looking at his junk so didn't know of these exchanges until later~

if I
HAD known I might have been tempted to give him a Sarah Palan wink in gratitude! haha!~ (just kidding!!!!)

Oh!
What cool junk he had!! :)
(more pics will be posted for Shadow Sunday)

Tomorrow- more of our trip!

Love,
Junie

Sweet Give-a-Way!

Oh, my goodness!

...Speaking of 'sweet' give-a-ways... look at this!!

My friend PEA is having a drawing for a sampling of her homemade chocolates!!

I have been drooling over these chocolates for 3 years now... :) so of course I left a comment for a chance of winning this yummy gift! All you have to do to have a chance to win is to visit Pea and leave a comment for her.

I know I just cut down my chance of winning - lol- but what are friends for? :)

Visit Pea! You'll like her blog- even if you don't win her chocolates! I sure do! :)

Something sweet from Alli!

Something happy here!!

:)

My granddaughter, Allison, just gave me permission to show all of you this video she did a few days ago!

This video was made for a contest. The requirements were to download the instrumental version of this Plain White T's song and the participants were to sing the lyrics along with the music. Alli went a step beyond by making the video, not just an audio, of the song!

The prize includes singing onstage with the band! :)

Alli wanted to film it all here at our place. She likes all the old , cool, stuff we have around! (haha) I love the concept of this video and Alli did a great job of editing it!
I think she, and her mom, did an excellent job with the video! And I had no idea Alli had such a sweet singing voice! (She's usually LISTENING to other people sing, not doing it herself!)

The first time I watched this I cried...but that's just me being Ginga!

Anyway~ hope you enjoy this!

On Tuesdays, Morning Glory sponsors a little thing called Alphabet Soup.

'cheer' or 'comfort' to our lives...maybe even 'comic relief!' :)

This is a very early picture of our family!

My Grand-CHILDREN have often provided the
'Comic Relief' in our lives! :)

Family stuff!

Lol!

OK!

If y'all are getting sick of looking at 'Ginga's family,' then just skip this post...but ~ you're all welcome to share in our day if you'd like!

I know the family will want to see us all in pictures...'One more time!' haha

Alrighty...moving right along...

I find if I stay up later I have a better chance of sleeping ~ so that's what I do. I often listen to music, work on my blog or pictures or chat with friends, late into the night.

When I finally
DID get to bed last night (after 1:00) I got to sleep pretty quickly- in fact I didn't even read at all! Can't say I slept all that well, tho, as the dang cough disturbed me several times! After my late, late, night of online music, etc... I slept a little later than usual this morning.

When I did awake about 9:00 I had to hurry things up to get ready for the family to come, around noon time!

Charles cooked ribs on the grill this time and I made Mac & Cheese, baked beans, fresh veggies and a sour cream dip... deviled eggs... :) made it simple and easy! Cake and ice cream too, of course!

I didn't make pictures of the food this time - just us folks!

( Click on pics to enlarge )

About Moths!

While looking at the Sky Watch Friday posts I usually will scroll down and look at other posts of each new blog I visit. I figure I will like other things they post if I like their Sky pics! :)

I got a cool surprise when I checked out this post !

I was surprised because, at first glance, I thought this very flashy moth on this site was the same as the ones I had encountered here at our place and had posted about in the past. After looking closer and then comparing it to mine I realized they are not the same. However, both are an impressive sight to see! IMO

The moth (in my world) is this one! Pandora Sphinx

( scroll down the list to find it on this link )

I have written about this moth and posted some pics a couple times previously.

Just a few days ago I found another of these moths in my garage. (Dead) I made some photos of it the day I found it, but left it there.

Today, after seeing the similar moth at this other website, my interest was once again renewed and I bagged the moth for safe keeping! :)

( I collect little things of nature!)

I photographed it again to show the size.

(Sorry this picture is blurred, but you can see the size of this moth!)

Isn't it cool? :)

I think so!

Rainy Day-thanks to FAY! (And some awards)

Wow!!

Ok ~ First , let me say thanks to Mary, The Teach, for this 'cool' award!

~~~~
This is what Mary says about this award:
"You Give Me Happy Feet" award
"When I think of you my feet begin to tappin' and I pirouette across the floor in total delight that I will be talking/commenting to you in a little while. And of course my feet aren't the on only parts of my body that are happy because of you. My head is boppin', my mouth is smilin,' my hands are clappin' - all because of you. And here are the people I give this award to........"
~and then she lists her choices!
:) Thanks, Teach, I am honored !
~~~

I also got these recently from Pea, my blog friend in Canada!

#1 ~is a friendship award which she passed on to ALL her friends

and

#2~ is a button she wanted all her friends to have and display!

Thanks, Sweet Pea! :)

~~In case there's any doubts ~ my blog friends are all very dear to me! ~~

~~~
Speaking of friends... I had a late night chat with an online friend -
way late- last night. It's always so good to talk with those you have found to share so many common interests and ideals...from music , politics, family matters - or whatever! I always feel a kind of satisfaction and peace of mind after reconnecting with friends. My sleep was restful last night! :)
~~~

Today is nothing but rain and I've done nothing at all constructive...but that's ok!
We are getting just rain from 'Miss Fay,' but other parts of our state have seen more of her negative side!

Here are some pics from today and yesterday!

( Click to make bigger )

WET !!!

I like this little 4 O'clock flower! These were among my mom's favorites and they always make me think of her! They are sweet!

~~~
I'm feeling better and haven't had any more of those weird feelings of last week but I'm going ahead with the stress test. It is set up for August 29th. Hopefully, I will have a good report with that!
I feel I'm ok...however-something caused that problem! Will see how it goes!
Thanks to all who have been concerned about this!
~~
Have a good day.
Love,
Junie
